Getting 2 fans.

1.) one for Carbon Filter - clearing out a 10x12 room.
2.) one for cooling down 4 1000 watt lights (all attached, air cooled, sealed)

will that 12" cool the lights and do the Carbon filter? or what?

will 1 424 cfm cool 4 1000 watt lamps?

I've had that system going before,,, I had a 8 Inch 745 cfm blower sucking hot air off the lights, and 10inch 780 CFM blower cleaning air through the carbon filter.
Both were exhausted out of the building.
1 large oscillating fan moving air around, and an Air conditioner cooling the room in the summer

Ya may want to over size the fan cooling the lights, it will make it easier to keep the room temps down
:joint:

Heres where i got mine http://www.discount-hydro.com/productdisp.php?pid=560&navid=29

Great price, and they work great

960 sq ft room = 8" fan

2.) one for cooling down 4 1000 watt lights (all attached, air cooled, sealed)

I use a vortex 8" for 4 8" cool tubes and all is good.

peace

i thought oscillating fan was just for strong stems?? wouldn't a fan just create more heat and just move that heat around?
It will make the stems stronger, but it will also help from heat building up creating hot spots.

Plus if you will be using flexible ducting, HydroFarm,,, its the best, no air leaks, and no light leaks.

Try to keep the bends and length of the ducting down as much as possible to decrease static air friction loss

They definately help keep hotspots from forming right under the light, allows you to put it (the light) closer to the canopy.

You need a fan running all the time to create air movement for the following reasons

Yes strong plant stems, the plant gently moving a little does this helps support big buds on the ends.
Hot spots, just what is means.
CO2 up take, fan moves old air out and new air in with new CO2
PREVENT BUGS, helps dry out the top of the medium to prevent nats. Not to dry or spirer mites will show up.
Prevent mould and mildue, stagnent air and cool temperature will do that.

Ideal is a fan on all the time, and another during flower.

Peace

Lots to learn eh? always will be thats why lifes an adventure not a destanation.
