Have a look at that might help you make a good choice, personally I'm done arsing about mixing stuff. Since this is my first grow (for any kind of plant from seed) I need to take as much guess work out of it so I'm going with Plagron for the next transplant, might cost a bit more but peace of mind is worth it. I used Bulrush John Innes No.2 when I transplanted to stop her falling over but I find it's a very 'heavy' compost even with vermiculite added, won't be using it for MJ again.

Saw some yellow patches on Celia and thought it was time to add nutes, gave her a 1/4 strength dose and she started developing rust spots :roll:. I thought it was a pH thing, so finally got a tester and it was high, filtered it and its better, but the spots are burn not lockout so she's back on plain filtered water till she grabs me and begs for nutes :lol:. At least she's still growing like a mad thing, decisions on topping or lst or both next...

I used Plagron bat mix for all my last grows just taught id like to try something else , let us know when you decide to top &/or lst your babies

I read somewhere that B & Q own compost is one of the best and home base is one of the worst...
I bought some Erin compost, don't think I'll be getting it again.... Doesn't absorb water to well once dried out... also shrinks a lot..!!

Im using tomato grow bags, just dump it into the pot. Real nice compost.

The waether is savage lads, the beast is doing real well. Ill get some pics up the next few days, i dont have my camra at the mo.

I was in woddies a while ago and couldnt decide what to go with , ill pop into B&Q tomorrow and have a look if i dont see anything ill prob just get a bag from the growshop but it will be overpriced there.

I used the tomato stuff for a few plants im harvesting at the end of this week but not happy the way they grew and im blaming the soil :-)

Cant wait to see your beast the weather has been unreal no rain now in a while so im sure ye outdoor growers will need to be watering those babies soon

to day in my green house seen some very little flys a bit like green fly going to have to vist nursy to see if i can get some kind of spray or somthing else to get rid of them and some that wont harm my plants i got tomotoe plants melons chillie plants and strawberrys in the green house as well to day in green house most have been about 35deg soil and compast dry right out on all my plants every day have to soak all rest of my plants but i dont give any water to my babies only 2 times a week since i read info on them last week going out to mix some soil and compost into 12 litre pots now as some of my plants r in 6 litre or 5 litre tubs

Just be carefull with the transplant cause you dont want to stunt there growth since you are kinda a bit late putting them out and you need to make the most of your veg time, today is the longest day of the year and the days will soon start to shorten.

yes i would let them stay in the 5 litre pots but i think they need bigger yes going to dig a big lump of soil out replant them that way

Decided I'm going to go with the topping only, will leave LST till another time, terrified I'm going to snap it :cry:. She could be topped now but I'll let her go till she's got 8 nodes and try to clone the topped bit, will be a learning experience if nothing else.

Darren just be careful with the nutes, don't forget you have a lot of soil in those big pots with plenty nutes already in it, I didn't have that much soil and thought she'd run out of nutes and I still managed to burn her with only a 1/4 strength dose. She's still putting out lots of new growth so hopefully not too much damage done, first born is always the most damaged tho :mrgreen:. Looks like a spotty teenager now :roll:.

I had flies also, I got sticky fly traps designed for aphids and flies. Stuck 2 on each side of rows and they worked just fine. I've sprayed the girls with neem oil and zero tolerance. Zero seemed to work better. But dilute the hell out of whatever solution you use and test it on a few leaves before spraying all of them. Solution could burn leaves. I'm going to start bending mine today with hopes of going into flowering next week

anyone around just about to replant how much perlite would i use to either 12 litres of compost or 15 litres says on bag 25 percent i was thinking just a handfull

25 % would be great, however I put in about 15% cos I'm a tight arse but it seams to work..
