Like riddleme said, the price will probably only go up.
I've heard numbers from $30-50,000 for the new state licensing fee alone, not including city licensing fees, sales tax, labor, rent, utilities,
on TOP of having to scramble to get 70% of your meds coming from your own certified grows by July.

I don't see the prices going up even with a 50,000 lic fee. The shops are Turing a good profit and will need to suck it up or the black market will under cut them. I'm saying right now $300 for oz of top self by this time next year. If the prices go up more people will b growing their own and a coop or medical bank will hold the surplus for small users who grow over the quota. The same bank or coop will retail some meds for cheep if a depositor wants to sell. These banks will be set up as non-profit as the monies made will be paid back to depositors and salarly for the storefront workers.

Total Health Concepts has a pretty good variety of meds for $280 an ounce... they sell it at $10 a gram to anyone too just in case they can't afford a whole ounce... Probably one of the most reasonably priced places in Denver that I have come across... maybe try them out?

I no longer buy my cannabis from dispensaries for the simple fact that they all do a 100% markup. I just use clist once a month and pick up a few OZ for 200 or less directly from caregivers with extra meds. There is no law in place that stats where a patient must get their meds. Its legal on the patients side to even purchase from someone who'm doesn't have a mmj card. Its risky for the non legal seller though. How do you think people with cards got their meds 9-5 years ago before all the dispensaries popped up and caregivers were not as common as they are now. They got it on the street, and thats what sparked the argument for needing dispensaries where people could feel safe buying their cannabis. Personally I have met 5-10 diff caregivers from Clist and all were cool guys with great stuff, " not tumbled or keefed already".
If you have your MMJ card check out http://denver.craigslist.org/search/?areaID=13&subAreaID=&query=mmj&catAbb=sss there are 100's of mmj posts a day and almost always a deal for everyone's budget. I know some people will say this is stupid and risky getting your meds from clist , but if your legal than STOP ADDING to the fucking dumb ass stigma and taboo surrounding. If your legal than dont worry about some guy selling you an ouce being a dea agent trying to catch people w/o cards buying. Its a waste of their time . Not to mention the 100's of other adds and transactions on Clist daily.
I went to 3 or 4 dispensaries, bough the "topshelf" for 55 per eight and was disappointed with 3/4 of them. Even the one that was kill though could have been bought for 1/2 the price if I had done a little investigating.

What most people dont understand is this shit takes time and I'm sorry but growing things like tomatoes are much easier look it up anyone with horticultural knowledge will tell you growing cannabis is a science in its own. Not saying its hard to grow meds or anything, just saying that everything has a price based on supply and demand, and if you want to DIY, DIY, just dont bitch about it

Trick is find a caregiver who harvests at least a pound a week, dont buy from the guy who grows 10 plants in his closet once every 3 months and thinks his weed is special lol.

My first grow is going fine with no prior growing experience, grow your own or find someone who does it with so much ease and in such great quantity that they can afford to let you have reasonable prices on your medicine.
Dispensaries in colorado are a joke for the "most" part. These people want to make a quick buck of people who need medicine so they buy from other growers at 200/oz and then sell it for 400+ /oz. Please explain where the compassion for the patient comes into play there. Most dispensaries buy over half of their inventory if not more. So, buy medicine for dirt cheap and then resell to make a 100% profit. Its ONLY about money for most of these owners. Why else even bother opening a dispensary as opposed to being a caregiver. That's what i mean by the dispensaries are greedy. Its ALL about money for them. So yeah I don't support them gouging the general public and using the defense that "If I sell it any cheaper than drug dealers will buy all my medicine and sell it on the street.." Well guess what, its already cheaper on the street. Before I got my medical card I was paying $45 / eight for the exact same meds that are $55 at some of the dispensaries near me. WHY should the price go UP now that I'm legal??

I think you were lied to by the dispensary saying that they pay three hundred for an ounce. I never get more than two hundred an ounce when I sell to the dispensaries and most of the time I get closer to one hundred fifty for an ounce. Maybe I am selling to the wrong people, but that's my experience thus far. I think it is highway robbery and immoral to be charging people these prices when they are paying so little for it in the first place and I would definitely like to see that change, but these dispensaries are after money pure and simple. I think a lot of dispensaries are ignoring a fundamental law of economics which is that when you lower your prices people buy more and you actually make more money because you move more product. I charge the people i give care to what it cost me plus ten bucks per eighth and I think that is fair and so do they. These dispensaries should be ashamed of themselves for ripping off people who are buying medicine. I think it's atrocious that they offer maybe ten percent off or five dollars off per eighth when you designate them as your caregiver. They should be getting about six ounces per plant (a reasonable estimate) and then they sell it for three hundred fifty dollars per ounce and make twenty-one hundred dollars per plant and they pay two hundred dollars ( a high estimate ) max. So they are making bank off every patient they have and in return the patient gets next to nothing in return. It's like the pharmaceutical companies all over again. I hate to see the greed that is rampant in the industry now, but what can I say? Cash is king.

With growing.. for my own use.. I don't have to worry about it anymore. It's great.. im free...... I'm free!... I'M FREE!... I'M FREEEEE!!!! HAHAHA!. Never again!!!
But yeah seriously, I'm glad I no longer have to deal with having to call and then wait.. or be in a rush to meet up with someone. Sure is WAY less stress growing my own. Way better than having to deal with all the drama and bs.. just to get a sack of nugs.
Also, I'm blessed with having a friend who almost ALWAYS has the fire.. and anytime that I might need a little bit, he's got my back.. even though he doesn't know that I'm growing.. he knows that I still smoke from time to time.
But yeah anyhow.. nicely said my friend.

I'm drying my first plant harvest now so for the last few months I have gotten all my medicine from Clist lol. I know it sounds funny but check Denver Clist and you will shit yourself how many caregivers have extra meds at a reasonable price.
