I was also wondering.. is it too late to start using nutes in week 4? Been thinking about maybe picking up something that will give them a bit of a boost to get those buds nice and fat, but wasn't sure if it would have an adverse effect on my plants.

No week 4 is not too late. Really most people say to stop nuting 2 weeks before harvest (pretty much after you flush the plant), but some people nute all the way up to harvest. I personally stop nutes after my flush.

yeah man I kinda had the same problem with my first plant. I LSTed it then threw it into flower and it kept growing and ended up with nice buds but they were smal compared to what they could have been if they were in a bigger pot.. You could try and transplant them but its risky. You have the buds starting to form but Im sure its hard for the plant to produce them in a closed root space like that. I think if you give it a few more week theyll grow but wont be too fat. But you'll see the lower leaves really start dying quickly

Can you suggest some cheap nutes that i'd be able to find in stores?

No really if your limited to stores, ie home depot lowes etc, your really not going to find good nutes for your money. I mean you can grow with MG, and I have before, the NPK is the right ratio and everything but you just dont get those trace minerals that you will find in other nutes. If your willing to order off line there are some cheap, but very good, ones out there. I personally use Jacks Classic. The all purpose and the bloom boost. I usually mix em with fox farms grow and bloom and bud in my own little cocktail depending on the state of growth it is in. But fox farms are expensive and I'm going to switch to Earth juices nutes. But really if you spend 16 on the Jacks Duo you can nute your whole grow with just those 2 bottles. Pretty cheap.

There, I hope this works. (obviously new to the site.)
That actually looks pretty good! Very simple but effective.

I've only got one light on my girls right now... I really should add another one, but it just gets so damn hot in my box with both.

Looks like you won't have that problem with an open air solution.

Actually, I have it in the corner of the closet, and the is a shelf above it. So, I have a bath blanket from work, thumb-tacked to the shelf, making a nice, little, white, barrier bongsmilie. And since the pot its in, is sittin on a box-lid, that keeps the blanket squared-up (?) if ya know what Im sayin, lol :blsmoke: So, its not quite open like it showed, and I put a fan in there for a few hours a day.

My first grow ever. sorry about the blurry 2nd pic. i did a really shitty job of putting up the reflective material as you can see. Also if anyone can help me out and tell me how this plant looks. Im trying to keep it as short as possible its pretty thick and bushy but is this normal for 4 weeks? or is it falling behind? im about to throw it into flower to keep it low.

Here are some better photos of my updated box with my new plant + my older one who I can't seem to find a solution for.

I just added the fans in yesterday. Right now they're powered by just plugging into a PC's power supply. Until I can get some 12V wall warts, this is what I'll be using.
