What do you think of my set up?

Hey, i'm a new member just have a set up i'd like to tell you then ask some questions about it.

• My grow room is a 1m x 1m x 2m room.
• The walls are covered in Mylar.
• I am buying 1 x 600w HPS light with a reflector.
• I am planning to have 4 plants growing in 5 gallon pots.
• I will have one extractor fan, unsure which one yet, and have 2 intake holes, unsure about the size at the moment.

What type of soil should i buy? I don't live in america so i cant get fox farm, i live in the UK
Is my light overkill? Should i get a 400w?
Can i use a HPS straight from germination?
What nutes should i use?

Hi ya Skunk

No mate , No need for the ballest , If you have the reflector , They come with the Euro plug socket ( little black FEMALE plug ...like a kettle ) like this one on the right

Then get a kettle cord like this


you can plug that cord into it and straight into the mains ( via a timer if you want )

And when you get you ballest you can unplug the kettle cord and just hook it to the ballest when you want your bigger lamp


So all you need is the refelctor with the cord to veg your plants , It comes with the cord , you just need a kettle cord ... plug in ... and your vegging with the CLF ... Simplez

Then when your ready to flower , Unplug the kettle cord ... pop your 600w bulb in and connect to your ballest to the reflector ...and off you go flowering ...It really is that simple


What i have done is got 2 reflectors , One is in my room with the CLF in it right now vegging my plants , And when its time to flower i will do the above .... and take my CLF bulb and pop it into the other reflector that im setting up for my next lot of clones

No Prob's mate , I have a feeling it might not be your thing ... But get yourself a little journal going ( its not mine ether realy .. but i have found it really helpful and its a great way to chart your progress and see what you did right and wrong for future grows ) You will get lots of help when you need it from people like myself that are willing to learn and help others , Some good Pro's here that just love to help us noobies ... It can make a diffrence from a smal shitty quality harvest to a bigger awesome smoke ... Think about it and let me know if you do ..i will subscribe and be on hand to help you out
