Umm, I dunno because he was dead over 100 years before I was born.

I am not interested in taking on the guilt of my forefathers. Could we discuss the horrible injustices done to the slaves today? Oh wait, there arent any (well unless you count muslim countries) BECAUSE LINCOLN FREED THEM!!!

Brother, there are ALL SORTS of slaves. Whenever a country institutes control to a government, there is bound to be slaves of all kinds. Not just labor, rape, pilage kind of slaves. But slaves to a country for starters. Slaves to drugs that are supplied by a countries government and then the government turns around and locks those people up. PRISON IS LEGALIZED SLAVE LABOR....enlighten youself through education. And in education u may find a class called US History...its not for the weak of heart....

The reason Licoln freed HIS, and ALL slaves ( that is not a accurate statement) is a very debated subject in History Class. Many many reasons as to why he did, but I cant say most will ever know. However, Condoning someone who MURDERED, and RAPED is SICKENING. MORESO, to say that JUST BECAUSE HE FREED SLAVES MAKES ALL THE WRONG HE DID, RIGHT...Is NOT REALITY! LINCOLN USED TO DISMEMBER SLAVES WHO DIDNT SUBMIT TO HIS WILL OF RAPE

America has but little choice to bear the weight of AMERICAN HISTORY...its AMERICAN,....promise you nobody in the world wants the US History or its guilt.
Then after America did "freed the slaves", lets not forget about the countless Native Americans the US killed in the name of Freedom. What a way to spread that message.

Yes, and we are all enslaved by our governments are we not?

But on Independence day Americans have alot to be proud of. Are we perfect? Hell no... we are some of the most crazy SOB's on the planet...

George Washington sailed across the Delaware and killed a bunch of sleeping British on Christmas. We completely destroyed a city along with all its inhabitants and did it again shortly thereafter because Japan didnt get the first message. We are capable of terrible carnage and destruction but also charity and aide. Americans are some of the most generous people on the planet as well.

Therefore, pointing out one end without pointing out the other is completely misrepresenting the situation. And back to addressing the issue at hand. The American government may fall but I dont think America will any time soon. There is still a mainstream fiber of people who believe in liberty for all people and that attitude can hold a country together.

Do Americans have alot to be Proud of? IDK, Not American, personally I would feel ashamed, Not proud of the USA History.

Misrepresenting the situation. Good Clause! I am pointing to both ends...all of which are ugly, wrong, and disgusting...but thats my opinion, which is based on US History.
The Mainstream fiber of people are the OBVIOUSLY GULLIBLE! There is no such "thing" as Liberty. Personally, no where in History, has Attitude ever held a country together, regardless of what the attitude is.

I am not at all trying to put the US Down or degrade them more than what they have already down for themselves. Shit, I reside in a fuckstain of a country to. But I choose to be a realist, and not a illusionist. Facts of history are FACTS, NOT MYTHS LIKE LIBERTY. We dont have much choice but to live in a Country that has some sort of centralized Government now days. But that doesnt mean you have to be proud of said country.

The Government wants to make you even more gullible. What a sign of such to see people PROUD to be living in Countries like the US. The US doesnt have a hard job of maintaining control when the great "mainstream" population is gullible and under the spell of a US induced, Propoganda riden, false sense of Pride....Sad, but true!

Now I could spend alot of time on this website listing all of the great things that America has done. But you clearly are of the *original sin* opinion. ER: Lincoln killed black people so he is a murderer and his life had no other value...

We are not perfect, we do not claim to be. But we have alot to be proud of and today I raise a bong in salute to the great country that is AMERICA!!!

I wouldnt say I am a member of the "original sin", but I think its the right thing to do and say that the guy was a monster and NO he should not be awarded some other value for his life. What he is is barbaric, way beyond what we hear of now days. He is certianly not apart of anything America should be proud of.

I think that it would be really really uneducated to say that America doesnt have SOMETHING to be proud of. In my personally opinion...I wont voice it out of kindness. However, I am aware there is alot of good that America has done, but nothing enough to outway the negative.

I am not perfect, dont have all the right awnsers, and I have alot to be proud of. So, I raise my Bong in salute to the great plant CANNABIS! May it have its well deserved, and own Independence Day. A day were an Innocent PLANT, can and will be embraced, happily, by all Nations!

I cant agree with or support the idea or action of "banging white ho's" ( kinda a racist comment btw) and making money from that. Just cant see that as something I would support. I know I DONT want my daughter doing that, so I cant find the logic in supporting that behavior.

The US is capable of being a true blessing for all mankind, also as already mentioned, they inhabit one of the most generous and technologically advanced people on the planet, yet...war crimes, exploitation of weaker countries, a record-scale ignorance of world history and geography, genocide and slavery within their own borders, a government resembling the one of Germany in the 30's etc.
Take it or leave it, every dominant and powerful civilization in history brought bliss and terror to mankind side by side.

Well if you google "Who Invented the Internet" the awnser is a combination of people. Some of those people, were not american...so I guess it would be safe to say that america cant take all the credit for that, but a good tid bit of information.

I agree that most civilizations have a historical record of bringing "A good and a Bad" sort of clause. Still, has no bearings to be proud of that! But, I guess that is why they have left that in the hands of the people of what to be proud of.

Absolutely, I 100%-ly agree with you, as well as with your other posts! Look at my country, Germany for example: By no means I'm proud of my country or the fact that I'm a German, but I make a clear distinction between our crimes commited in the past and the Germany of nowadays.
Nazi Germany: A batshit-insane Austrian lays out the plans for the genocide of millions of people.
Contemporary Germany: One of the richest, most respected and technologically advanced nations in the world.
