Powdery mold

(I know the title said powdery mold, but it should have said powdery mildew. If a mod can fix it, great.)

One of my growers has had a bout with powdery mildew. It was the kind that produced little white circles on the leaves (not the buds). The grower should have used some neem oil to prevent them, but only used it afterwards, so it was never totally removed.

My question is: When we harvest the plant, can the leaves and trim still be used to make hash and cannabutter? Or will the powdery mildew render those parts of the plant useless? I'm more concerned with ingestion safety than anything else.

Any input will be appreciated. Thanks.

Personally i wouldn't think it would be too healthy too make the leaves into hash now. But i guess it would still be possible

...neem oil don't prevent powdery mildew, neem oil is for insects.

...low airflow (intake/exaust) and high humidity causes PM....a sulpher burner will kill your pm, up your exaust and get a dehumidifer to prevent it. I personally wouldn't make hash from pm infested leaves.

I've heard that yes you can make hash. After mixing well with ice let things settle then skim all the mold from the top of the water after it floats to the surface. Bubble hash is the way you want to go. IMHO

Truthfully neem is the only thing that worked for me. The guy at the hydro store gave me sulphur and that pretty much made things worste. Even tried a few other products that didn't work. After first use of neem havnt seen any since.

...holy shit. Scratch my above statement, I just researched neem oil and damn , " Neem Oil is an effective fungicide for the prevention and control of various fungal diseases including powdery mildew, black spot, downy mildew, ...

...the more I learn ,the more I realize I know nothing...hahahahaha

No worries, man. I was recently turned on to neem oil based, organic insecticide/pesticide. It's great stuff, but I've found it would be better to put it on early as a preventative instead of late.

Thanks very much for the input about the powdery mildew and hash. Fortunately, it's under control and virtually gone. However, there are still some traces of the battle on the leaves. I simply want to be as careful as possible, so I'll likely attempt the bubble hash, ice water extraction method and keep my eyes open for any powdery mildew that may accumulate on top. Good thing it floats!

I've heard sulfur works well and is the preferred method in the flowering stage. They say neem oil can effect the taste, so it probably shouldn't be used in the flowering stage (at least not on the flowers).
