Everything is looking pretty good so far, I'm still waiting another week to see if they will autoflower... As you can see I moved them to a different location, "the closet.."

I decided to move them because for some reason temps starting getting out of control and a couple of the top leaves got heat stressed but nothing to bad.. They pretty much stay at 78-81 right under the lights now, so heat isn't an issue which is a nice! More lights are likely in the future.

There roughly 14" tall and 16" wide!!

Let me know what you think.bongsmilie

Yo smelly they are comin along real nice, very bushy! What you been usin for nutes? Looks like they could use some liquid bone meal. A little kick in the pants won't hurt to get them to show you some flowers. Try molasses too if you haven't!

Thanks Rombomb!

I actually have no idea what either of those do lol, Do they help kick into flowering?? I have seen the molasses used a lot and have heard of the bone meal a few times, care to educate me lol?? If not I'll do some reading tomorrow and see whats up.

To answer your question I used FFoF soil and fish emulsion for veg, "probably didn't even need the Emulsion because the soils packed with nutes.." Starting using big bloom at week 5 and I'll probably be adding tiger bloom in by week 7.

Sounds good. Just be careful with that tiger bloom some people have had some burn issues. Big Bloom worked for me before, it's good organics. The liquid bone meal is cheap & you can get it for $6-7. Usually it's a 4-12-0 type of concentration, & it's less likely to burn your plants like that tiger bloom can. The molasses is supposed to give you bigger sweeter buds. Don't remember exactly how but people swear by it for better yield & tastier stinkier nugs. Supposedly it's in a lot of the new bloom booster products out there that you use in conjunction with nutes. I think it supplements essential sugars for the forming of trichs & also cal/mag? Anyone feel free to correct me on that. You can get it at any grocery, just make sure you get black strap unsulphured molasses.

Hope that helps!

Rom has the molasses figured correctly nice taste and a good source of cal mag.
Looks to me like they need some more nitrogen and they should turn a better shade of green.
I use Jack's classic nutes Dynamic duo molasses and lime mixed into the soil.
Lime = cal mag also plus acts as a ph buffer for soil.
Since I started this growing has become easy.
Look up uncle ben or riddleme. Two of the top guys on riu and both use jack's
Also look up closet growth he grow's monsters off jack's.
Cost me $29 dollars shipped for 3 pounds 1.5 veg and 1.5 flower.
I started with fox farms also.
But then riddle filled me in on what he said are the best MJ nutes.
Now I know you don't have to go broke to feed your plants.

looking good bro...id stay on the same track your on.molasses does help a bit from what ive seen.but be careful not to overdue it...id start with like a 1/4 tablespoon per gallon...if its overused you get a deposit of sugar on top of the soil...make sure not to foliar spray with it.and when your adding a high concentrate of the stuff...keep an eye on bugs..gnats seem to love the stuff.i mix my own soil and dont use any nutes at all till flower other than watering with worm casting tea, then i start hitting it at week 2 of flower with AN's big bud, that seems to give it all it needs.but again looking great man..ill have new pics of my diesel ryder up soon..got some major leaf drooping going on...im sure its from overwatering..tends to happen with these jiffy peat pellets

Thanks for dropping some knowledge, I can use all I can get thats for sure!! Seems like I'm learning something new everyday.. I'm going to grab some molasses here pretty soon and give it a try.
Do you guys think I should wait until they start flowering to feed molasses or just start now? How often would you say to feed it once a week or every other watering like the other nutes?

I had some drooping issues for a while until I figured out I was overwatering.. Took a little to perk up but it seemed like once I started watering every 48hrs or so it helped, then when It started to get a nice root system they started liking water every other day.. I've never used the jiffy pellets but my overwatering was mostly from my lack of knowledge but hey you have to learn somehow right!!

Again very good info!! I remember you showing me those nutes earlier in the thread, I think thats what I'll be going with next grow for sure! 30 bucks isn't bad at all.. Is that all you use? WoW I just had de ja vue lmao wierd!!
How did the FF nutes compare to the jacks? I guess I'll be finding this out for myself eventually its just a ways away..

Shit just for the quart of b/b and t/b I'll be spending more than that...

Thanks a bunch for the pointers, if you guys think of anything else don't hesitate to jot that shit down!! I'm so glad I joined this forum, I'm not sure if these would even still be alive if I didn't..:)

yeah,id wait till they are at least a week into flowering..the way i would think it works if you add molasses in when its not flowering...its gonna fill the plant with it and not put it where it needs to go..the bud sites.as for the cycle you put it on kinda goes with the rest of your feeding cycle, pot size, and trial and error.id start once a week,if the plant likes it start feeding it every other watering.if your gonna be using the bloom juice your good on the nute side..so the molasses is more a bug enlarger and taste changer.....keep in mind it can change the natural taste of the weed..so the better taste of the strain..less on the molasses..keep it natural in that case.short rider is a great plant for that, will help give it a sweeter taste to it and help give it denser buds.and make sure too cut off all nutes a couple weeks before harvest and start flushing them...gets the nasty stuff out of it and makes it taste hella better

Yeah I agree with you 100% on the jack's man. I'm not exactly the "organic" type of guy myself, but probably like a lot of people when I first joined here, all I heard was organic, organic, organic. So, I ended up shelling out about $20 each for a quart of botanicare pro grow and a quart of bloom. Don't get me wrong, my girls are loving it, but it just doesn't go as far as you would think for even a small grow. They aren't even flowering yet and I'm about half way through the quart of grow with only 6 plants. Granted, they pretty big outdoor plants which need a lot, but still. I've actually been mixing in some Schultz All Purpose 10-15-10 ($4 a bottle at the local hardware store) because it contains the micronutrients that the Botanicare doesn't.

Like I've said, I'm no cannabis expert, but I have grown other plants before. I've taken enough biology courses in college to know that a plant doesn't care whether its food is organic or not. A nitrogen molecule is a nitrogen molecule. It doesn't matter if it comes from cow shit, worm shit, bat shit, or whatever. I guess you can make the argument that the organic stuff isn't as strong and is broken down in the soil slower or whatever. Also, they say that the production of the chemical stuff creates more waste, uses more energy, and is just "bad for the environment" in general, but I've never read anything to support that. Not saying it isn't true, I never really researched it very much, but I doubt it. A lot of the time, this "environmentally friendly" business uses more energy and creates more carbon that traditional methods. Not trying to ramble or get political, but I've read some articles on how in some cases recycling, for example, actually uses more energy that creating said material from scratch. Think about it. Let's take plastics for example. They need drive a truck around to pick it up, send it wherever to be cleaned and processed, then it has to get shipped to the plastic bottle facility. Then, they have to go through a lot of other steps and processes just to make it usable. They can still only use 10-20% of recycled plastic when making a bottle. When it's all said and done, they use almost as much energy and spend almost as much money as they would have if they just used virgin plastic to begin with. Not saying recycling is bad, it saves landfill space, but it's something the liberal media doesn't tell you.

Again, sorry for ranting on your thread SmellyTreez. Hopefully I didn't piss too many people off, haha. The point I was getting at is that I don't think there is anything wrong with using the non organic stuff. I'd use Miracle Gro if I had to. When I hear things like "Miracle Gro killed my plants", I tend to believe that either 1) the person used WAY too much. MG is strong stuff, you don't need much. And 2) the person is just starting out and killed the plants by some other means. Now the soil is another story. Personally, I like the physically properties of MG soil, but I don't like the time released fertilizer. Seedlings especially don't need it and I like to be in control of how much the plants get. First time growers almost always over water, so every time they do more and more of the time release pellets are dissolved. Plus, first timers tend to over feed and start feeding too soon as well. THAT is what kills plants, not the "cannabis killer" chemical nutrients. :)

I think after this botanicare is gone I too am going to switch to Jack's. Not only do I like the ratios, it's a local company. I'm all about supporting local business. It's very inexpensive too. I guess because we are nearby, you can get one of the small tubs around here for like $5.

Sounds like a plan, I'm all about getting stickier and tastier buds!! :) I'll be switching to 12/12 exactly a week from today so I'll go grab some within the next couple weeks.

Here's some pics of the two outdoor SR's, their doing fairly well besides these damn bugs in this area killing the leaves!! I've been spraying 1-2 times a week with don't bug me fox farms and it still seems to have something getting at them. I did find a snail on the edge of the pot shortly after I noticed the leaves..:-?

Anyway here's some more pics, they will be 8 weeks on friday from breaking ground!! If you guys have any suggestions as far as the snails or whatever else please let me know.

I know this is in the indoor section but I figured I would throw them up because there short riders aswell..

I'm thinking of moving them to a spot with more cover but I might have to sacrifce some sun, which they don't get much of anyway.. Maybe like 6-8hrs direct sunlight at the most.. What do you think?

Yeah you're right, this is turning into awesome thread man. Not that it wasn't cool to begin with, but you're starting to get quite the following, haha.

Those outdoor plants are looking really good buddy. I wouldn't worry too much about the bugs. No matter what you do they are always gonna nibble on them a little. It's actually not all that bad. As for the snails, you can try putting a small circle of salt around the outside of the pot on the ground. It should stay out of the soil if it's on the outside. Better yet, you can wrap some tape around the side of the pot with the sticky side up. That way, they will get caught in it when they try crawling up the side.

If it's going to help you sleep better at night, go ahead and move them. 6-8 hours of direct sunlight is good though, I wouldn't want to go much less than that if you can. My non-auto plants are getting about that much and are turning into monsters.

They don't look like they are showing sex either. Outside I think they would have at least shown some preflowers at 2 months. The light outside right now is around 15/9, I can't believe they haven't started showing yet. Maybe let Alice over at Nirvana know. They definitely have to have ruderalis in them. If they weren't, 2 months outside they would be like 3' by now at least. They look good though. Really nice color and look like they have nice tight internode spacing.

Thanks bro that makes me feel a lot better about them! I remember reading about the salt I just wasn't sure if it was for snails, I'm doing that tomorrow and I might wrap some tape around there if its still a problem after that.. Some more great ideas, what would I do without you guys!!

Yea its hard to say because these where transplanted to many times and probably stunted pretty bad so that might have had something to do with it. Still no preflowers, I can tell they will probably be coming soon though. As long as I get some bud maybe even a few seeds "if I decide to pollinate" I'll be happy..
