thanks................It doesn't really matter much! A newly planted (pre-germinated) seed will probably clear the surface in a couple of days - a few days at most!
As soon as it clears the soil, the seedling needs some light, not too much! On the other hand - if you turn the lights on as soon as you plant the seed, you will get a little concentrated warmth on the "Sweetspot".
thanks man. i normally dont give light till they break thru the soil but its been awhile since i grew and needed reassurance.. PEACEi normally use a heating pad till i transplant the little things but without a heating pad i guess lights would help them out faster
but for your question light is not needed til plat breaks surface of soil
collect information then do what works best for you
good luck

Not sure what you are referring 2?i sometime just let mine grow thru the soil for a day without light
Thanks.............I keep the heating pad on low, a 26w 6500k CFL light on 18/6 from the moment I plant them, I keep the dome on until all are popped. I sometimes have to prop the dome up for the quick growers. After they are all tall enough to be taller than the dome I plant them im dirt with 2 of thr CFL and at day 10 thry get 2 more
