Human Urine - Good fertilizer?

Hi i read online you can use human urine 1 part to 10 parts water to help with vegetative growth in plants, Ive got a couple outside and have given it my own supply a couple of times, just wondering if this is doing the plant any good. Human urine is sterile, free and contains nitrogen whihc the plants use early on in vegetation, does anyone know if this is particularly good to use and if anyone has done this before? Also does anyone know when this should not be used any longer, thanks.

Awesome man, thats good, also do u know if you had slight browning/oranging of the edges of some of the plants leaves that would be to a nitrogen deficiency? More urine?

I am no expert but I would say that is too much N if the leaf tips are burning but a more experienced person could tell you better but the are gonna ask for pics.

I can't believe someone is actually using piss to water their plants with rofl - you're probably gonna be smoking that stuff afterwards you know! I wouldn't wanna smoke something that smells like piss though personally...

I have implemented urine in my organic grow, and not only is it an awesome and free fertilizer, but Finland has begun full scale urine fertilization of food crops. This is after studies showed that not only did urine outperform commercial ferts, but plants ( cabbages in the study ) were more pest and disease resistant, and even the nutritional values were increased. As I grow both organic garden and MJ, I urinate on my compost pile, and make compost teas from the compost. Here is a pic (two weeks old) of my biggest lady grown using urine/compost tea. So you tell me what you think of the results. I would say that if you are urinating on your patch, you should be sure to do so a foot or so away from plants and let soil break it down. Don't pee directly on plants, though they respond very well to being foliar fed with mix of 1 part urine, to 5 parts water.

I have no opinion on this subject.. but I have personally never used piss (urine) to "fertilize" my plants.

Never have and never will.

I have all my stuff dialed in.. to how I like it.. and how the plants like it and I don't plan on changing anything anytime soon.. that's for sure.

But hey, to those who like pissing on their soil and plants.. have at it!! Have a great time. lol....

but, with the knowledge I have about plant biology and horticulture.. I plan on staying away from using human piss for feeding my plants.

Yeah the shit I put in my garden is highly processed. It is shoveled from the stall to my truck.

never tried it, you don't taste the shit either. Bat guano is used all the time, you don't taste that.
the same person said this also, you wouldn't taste hawiian punch if you put it in there.

Lol, this is funny, well to be honest i think i am goign to keep on using using to fertilize my plant, whats unhygenic about it? It's outside for a start. It's also a very good point that people but cow shit, chicken shit, bat guana, fish juice and all sorts to fertilize plants, probably just in some people's minds because it comes from a human it is a no-no, but its sterile, good for nitrogen and free. Whoever said that you will be smoking that shit later misses the point, your smoking all kind of nutrients and chemicals when you smoke buds anyway, and im sure if you only fed it water for the last 2 or 3 weeks before harvest it wouldnt smoke like piss buds lol.
