HOW CLOSE CAN A 400W bulb be too your plants??

First off I would like to say hello to all and thank you for any help you can give.

I need some General advice on my whole set up. How tall should the box be if there is a 400w bulb in there?

I have a cupboard which I wish to build a grow room at the back of. The dimenshions are 8f high by 2.5f wide and 3.5f long

I'm not sure what disighn (Open to idears) but I'm going to buil it out of plywood with a vent at the top running up to the sealing and through a carbon filter.

Will add a picture if you want but theres nothing much to see.

Any advice on regulating the temp
Wops almost forgot what I'm growing, 5 Northern Lights (Fem and Autoflower ) from Nivana and 1 White Rino and 1 White Widow both (Fem) ALREDY GERMING!

P.S I still need space for some clothes lol and let me know if you need any info to help me.

Anything else you think I should know I'm all ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude 5 plants in that space WITH clothes are seriously going to STINK! As far as your light, It kind of depends on your air flow for your temps. 2 feet is about the closest you can get it and thats only with really good ventilation. Just watch your girls, if they show signs of stress move the light up.

U know that you can not immediately stick seedlings under the light right? They need a few days under CFL or regular FLoros to strengthen up first...

Thank you very much for the info. Yer I know I plan on using a 125 cfl that I have left over from my last grow (grow a nice plant but shit yeild) then a HID for veg and a HPS for flowering. I was planning on making a grow box at the back as tall as it needs to be as wide as it can but about half of the length of the cupboard, with 2 intake fans and... well saving me write it all out this isfrom another post.

How tall and wide does the box need to be for 7 plants?

Am I going to burn my house down if I plug those lights into my reflector?

My girls can grow right up to the glass lens without burning on my 600.

I run a vortex fan thru 6" ducting. :joint:

Why have you bothered to write in my threads 3 times, I wasn't sure what I was doing chill out dude!!! I wish you would answer some qustions though, instead of stateing the obviours.

all I use is 400 watt lights and I keep the light about 12 inches away from the tops. but if your plant is a young clone or seedling I would go about 2 feet intel you start seeing new growth and then move it down to about a foot.

i have a 400watt HPS i keep about 10inches away from the top of my plants, depending on what strain you have depends on how close you can have your light

i did burn one of mine, it grew really close to the light (almost touching it) thats my fault though

I've been changing my plans a bit I want to use this now.

I want to use my inline fan with the carbon filter for straight ventilation.

what do you use for ventilation? i imagined they got crazy hot and would have to be really far away like atleast twice that. thats why i was thinking of using this

I Think i over estimated the heat that will come of the light bulb. can you snwer my other question about dual spectrum
