600w run 20 hours a day will raise your bill by like $70. An increase in 600w during the summer isn't suspicious at all (I think central AC uses like 3000 kw/h). But you should take a look at your electricity bill to see how much you're currently running. An increase of 100% electricity use will be suspicious, but if your family does things like leave lights on when they're not in the room then your electricity bill is probably already up there, so another 600w won't be much noticeable.

If it's possible you could leave your baby plants outdoors and save energy, even if there's only like 12 hours light
and put them under fluorescents for the other 6 hours for total of 18 hours.

And if possible you could do the same with flowering. It's just a hassle when you have to move a lot of plants back and forth.
but if you have a greenhouse or outdoor tent you could pull it off without having to move plants around.

My computer has a 450watt power supply. So I wouldn't worry.
pc tech guy here. your pc only uses what it needs. if you have a 450w but only have small components then you might only use 200W hard drives about about 20-40Watts. Cd rom 10Watt. Only thing in your case that would eat up alot of juice is a high end 500$ graphics card. As far as the bill. They catch people that use around 3000Watts or higher. It usually reflects on your bill. Usually alot higher. You could have just moved in and got a hottub or 2 plasma tvs. The light company does not care that much. But when you eat a lot off the grid they start to wonder. Usually its an employee that informs for the police on the side.

Police can't kick you door in for a high electric bill and as long as you pay your bill, all the electric company cares about is getting their bread. The easiest way to get caught is to tell someone what your doing. I have been running 3000-5000 watts for years without any trouble. (knock on wood)
