Almost 9 weeks flowering no trichomes 600w HPS Master kush

Its been 8 weeks 5 days since i flipped the switch to 12/12. Below are pictures of what my plant currently looks like. It unfortunantly turned hermie so its produced a few seeds aswell. The plants are all root bound and they dry out FAST i have to water them up to 3 times a day.

Will it eventually start frosting up? Shall i bother continuing this grow or start again, there are no trichomes forming and its worrying me that this has just been a waste of 3 months.

Specs:
Started from seeds not cloned
600W HPS
4 weeks vegetation prior to flowering (18/6)
Biobizz Grow and Bloom nutes
Ph is around 6.5
White label Master Kush seeds
temperature: 80-86F

never mind i didnt do a good job reading the first post. the pictures from white lable for master kush dosnt look like it has many trichomes eather. but claimes the plant is very resinouse. how long after going to 12/12 did they begin to show sex? try calculating flowring time from there and see where you are at.

Thanks budderbutton for taking the time to search those threads quite useful, and to lovemug i think it was quite late they showed sex, like about 10-14 days after 12/12, been a really dissapointing grow im going to give them another month at the most then will harvest i think. Im just going to hope that they are a long flowering strain and i get something out of this, they are 80% indica and 20% sativa btw, also hardly any of the hairs have gone brown aswell so im guessing the buds arent mature yet and are still growing.

yeah i know your pain. i went with bagseed from mids on my first grow and ended up with really nice looking mids. smell wonderfull and look wonderfull but taste like dog ass. now i cant wait to get these white russian, sweet tooth, and chronic babys grown up.

I think your watering wayyyy too much,
your probly cloging up the plants "pores" so to speak,
not letting it get the resiny coating over the leaves as Ive learned in the past will render the plant almost useless

I only water when they are really dry and the soil is all hard though, not when it's still damp and no more then 3 times a day.

Lack of trichomes means either weak genetics or it wasn't fed a full spectrum of nutrients, specifically those involved with trichome production, like potassium.

I've seen plants with plenty trichomes in week 1-4 flower because of proper nutrients.

Could be, It was under a 600wat HPS during both veg and flowering stages which is predominantly red, but a HPS is good enough for both veg and flowering stages though and im sure if it was mainly red it would be less leafy aswell. The nutes i fed it was biobizz grow with a NPK of 8-2-6 and biobizz bloom at flowering with a NPK of 2 -6 -3.5

Thanks sounds like a good idea, also i can visibly see roots at the top of the soil, im guessing thats damaging the plant due to exposure to light i think ill add a bit more soil on top

thats a good call on the hps.. i recently switched from flowering under my mh and got a conversion bulb, and i have definitely seen less tric production under the hps than what i saw under the mh.. nothing major major, but i do believe that mh lamps produce more trics..
i've also heard that adding uv light to your grow can help with tric production.. the only problem with adding uv from what i've read is that you really have to dial in how long to leave the uv lamps on for as if you leave them on for too long, they can really cause the trics to mature before the buds are ready..
i'm just thinking as i type here, so don't take this as gospel, but i think it could give you a few things to look into ..
i would be crushed for sure if i had a grow where i didn't get any kind of tric production.. g/l with the rest of the grow, and all future grows as well. keep your head up, im sure you will learn a valubale lesson from all of this that will make all your future grows that much better..

Growing is not the massively complex science that some make it out to be. You can of course make it as complex as you want, but that's normally something you do after years of practise.

To be honest, I think it is purely the genetics. White Label seeds imo are just another marketing tool by Sensi to throw out yet more strains of shit. I would not grow White Label again....tendency to herm as well.

Looking at your list you have obviously been adding fertilizers, and your light is top notch (600's are the biz) I am voting for the genetics, all plants produce trichomes (not just MJ plants) but of course MJ plants fill theirs with resin. The strain you are growing obviously just ain't cutting it. I am sure the smoke will still be okay, but I would go for something new on the new run. I have seen a few people growing Big Bud for example, having massive colas, but hardly any trichomes.

I don't think it is overwatering (although 3X a time is a bit much. Perhaps try sitting the pots in bigger buckets and water them once by letting the plant suck up what it needs (once a day) If you are watering so much I very much doubt there is salt build up which was posted earlier....

All in all, change your genetics.

Good luck on getting them through to the end.

you say the hairs are still white, that means its still growing, check you dates,if they took 2 weeks to show sex I wouldnt count those days count from when they were sexed, also what are you useing to look for tricomes, you need a mini microscope to see them good.hopefully you have a long flowering plant and they will pop good luck peace and grow on

Thanks for the replies, they were severly rootbound so i cut the bottom of the pots and placed same size pots under to give the roots a bit more room, they literally were full of roots before and they had no room to move. I also flushed with lots of water and as i did hardly anything was coming out of the pot underneath, im guessing the soil was bad too. Ill post in a few weeks how they are looking if they manage to frost up.
