Having trouble cloning Cinderella 99

Hi I have cloned different strains before with 99% success. I use a mix of vermeculite and perlite. I cut the clone with a razor blade at an angle and put clone in water for a few seconds , then i dip it into rooting solution (stim-root #2) and then put into the damp vermec/perlite tray under a PLASTIC DOME. I spray clippings with folier spray every day. The plants are still green and look healthy. I waited 2 weeks and usually they are full of roots but with c99, i have only a swollen root area thats like really woody but no roots.
Im thinking maybe i should use a different rooting solution like stim root #1 which is for softwood. I use stim root #2 for semi hardwood plants.
Any advice on another way to do it. My plants are 2 weeks into bud now, it may be too late for these.
help please

yeah if you clone marijuana while in flowering then they usually take a month to revert back. best bet is to clone a mother plant that is around 2 months old.

yes thats what i did, and after cloning i put the mother into bud. I guess ill try some more seeds and try cloning again. These c99 have a kind of hollow branch and its very soft. The swollen root area is what looks really wierd and its over double the size the rest of the clipping and feels like wood.

i'm wondering...if the root area gets so swollen because the outside covering of the stem is too hard/thick? You might try new clones by scraping off the outer coating of the stem
before applying the hormone and planting. I bet you'll see quicker rooting then. This happens a lot to me on older plants with harder stems.

I have done tests with liquid and gel, i've had better results with gel for tougher to clone plants (ie olivia's, etc).

You are probably too far in for another set of clones, so you might have to reveg the bloomer. I would try some testing, however on a few lower, nonproducing branches anyway, you never know!

I thought C99 was supposed to be really easy to clone.:?

Here is my best advice. Get some rapid rooters. I just started using them a little over 6 months ago and they are the real deal! I've tried nearly every other method out there and the rapid rooters work better than anything else I've tried except aero and bubble cloners. You don't have to pre soak them and they can be used for both soil and hydro. Make sure your mother plant is at least 8 weeks old. I can't stress this enough. The mother plant needs to be healthy and mature. Back off the Nitrogen a bit for a week or so before you take cuttings. I never mist them directly, just the inside of the dome. I also use a heat mat which helps things out quite a bit. You gotta make sure it doesn't get too hot because they will fry your clones. I have to put a couple of towels on top of mine in order to get the temp down to an acceptable level. I used to use the perlite, vermiculite method and it worked good for many years but rapid rooters are the best thing since sliced bread, IMO of course. :weed:

I will look for rapid rooters and give it a shot
You won't be disappointed. I was having trouble cloning a plant. Nothing was working and then I went to the growshop and the guy there recommends these things to me. I got 1 out of ten to root of this one particular plant. Then next time with the rapid rooters I had 100% success!:weed:

hi
ive never had a problem cloning, i start taking clones from my mothers there about a month old, i take my clones from the second node on each stem(this helps the mother create more shoots for next time) i then shave off the outer layer of about an inch of the clone stem. then dip in clonex then place into moistend root riot cubes. i use a heated sanky propogater and a 110watt prop light, using this method ive had 99% sucsess rate, the clones are normally rooted within 10-14 days,
As for your current clones give them another couple of weeks if they havent rooted ditch them and start again
Hope this helps

Maybe the Mother's stressed so she's not giving good stock? High levels of N won't help the issue. I also have some C99's that are reluctant to give up the clone goods. It's taking a while, but I think it's going to work out.
