A rule of thumb is to provide approximately 50 to 100 watts of HID lighting per square foot of grow area during flowering. This is approximately 500 to 1000 watts per square meter.
Fluorescent lighting is roughly half as efficient as HID, so if using only fluorescent lights, double the wattage requirement. Thats 100-200 per square foot.
Is there any recommended limit?

u would need 20'000 lm for a good grow in veg, and another 30'000 lumen diffrent SPECTRUM ( RED or Purple) ! If you buy the Purple 200 WATT CFL u wouldnt need to buy anything else !
u coul do the whole thing with this 
^^ But dont think i'm talking out of my ass because you obv. have never grown before... otherwise you would use HPS !!!!! anyways, use the purple one for the beginning and then if you feel good getyourself a red cfl...
after that move to HPS..... ^^ and then start growing HYDRO

Purple choice would cost you 200 dollars...... with the powersupply adapter & the Light..... You also need 1 Power Adapter and 1 E40 Fixture..... ^^
You wont use allot of energy and you grow will give you a yield of about 100 gramm
wich is nice... I think i would realy like to see someone grow with the purple one
