So theres is a tropical storm coming my way tomorrow and expecting 35mph winds gust. My plants are about 3 months old pretty big and have 1 autoflower.
I know for sure they will probably snap or leaves will fall off with the high winds. So is there anyway I can tie them down or protect them some how just for the day.

well if theres a storm there probably wont be any sun...depending on where you live. i would say find somthing solid to put over them like a garbage can or like some clear plastic or somthing. thats about the only thing i can think of for wind

Would trashbags work? spending 8 dollars + on each and I need 6 is alotta money since I only have my own trashcan I use, its dirty yuck

trash bags might work but since theyre not solid the wind would press it up against ur plant and push it over still...you can get steaks about put them in like a box around ur plants and that should work

I kinda see where your going with this, but I cant quit understand. Where would the stakes be connected to? The pots or the bags. hm I might have to cut the bag in half so its like a blanket or something cause im not sure if my plants will fit in the bags the width of the bag might be to small. but who knows maybe I can scrunch the branches up.

But yea where would the steaks be connected to and what would be the best thing to connect it with, just plain ole nylon rope?

Thanks

i used twine to stake my plants down, and a tent stake . tie the twine gently around a node in the middle or near the base and tie it to the stake easy as that. are they planted in the ground or in pots im not sure i didnt read that anywhere. if theyre in the ground ya stake em. if not then put em in a garage or somthing.

Wait could I drill holes in the side of the pots and tie them down kinda like you would do an lst but I wont bend them I just place one end around a node and the other end through the hole in the pot and tie them two together then place the bags over. Sounds good right?

i would put the steaks in the ground and use them as supports for the bag...like put the steak around the pot and see if u can get the bag over the steaks

dont use trashbags... the wind will catch it worse then about anything else and rip them around
Aw man Idk then I guess theres not much to do then. I have nylon rope ties around the base connected to the pot of few of the plants already. I wonder if I put some rope around the middle so when the wind comes it wont bend so much. Im just worried that a gust of wind will break my lil younger ones in half, And all of them are just starting to flower

i would almost say just leave them be then tie them , then more bendy they are the more chance they have of living without being snapped out blown over. i would try to put a trash can over top of them or trying to put a windbreak in front of them like some plywood or somthing
