i like FFOF. im told it is the best. i burnt with grow big and/or tiger bloom buts thats because i listened to someone else and did regular strength instead of doing my original plan of only going half strength. learned my lesson. dont listen to friends that think they know what there talking about, listen to people that have showed proven results. hate to say it but on rollitup.org i trust more people as far as growing tips go compared to real life friends.

Yeah FF has great nutes but one must really listen to the plants when it comes to how much.
Hopefully Saturday I will have the last plant dried and weighed so I can finish this thread.
So far I have seen nothing good about RO when compared to FFOF. Both plants/strains grown in RO are non dense, little trichs and not too smelly.

All i use is RO and have had no problems what so ever. I use to use FFOF, then I tried it with happy frog mixed in...now all I use is RO. I get my soil as direct from them as you can get (they're located an hour from me) so maybe what you guys are getting is old soil. I'd recommend adding Oreganism to the soil that wahy you can replenish any lost micro organisms.

if that soil is only good an 1hr from the maker,
it must not be that good to start.

RO is made here in Eugene. That is where I am from. I do not know why you are mixing Happy Frog with FFOF? I tell you no lies, I have tried RO soil 3 years ago and did not like it, tried it again (finished) just so my hydro guy would be happy ( free bags) and compared to FFOF the stuff is low quality.

Oh yeah RO XL microorganism is not all that when you compare it to Humboldts Mycro madness. Just look at the spore counts.

I have been running subcools super soil recipe for over a year now. I have used roots potting and coco mixes with mediocre results.
The best combo I have used is 1 bag ocean forest to 2 bags light warrior. It stays nice and fluffy through the whole grow.
Better yields and sweeter smoke!

That's what I am finding too, bigger yields and tastier smoke with the FFOF.

So I went to the store today and was looking at whats gonna be the best here over the long haul and they were trying to push the roots organic on me with a drip system setup. I came back with an idea to put the ocean forest and light warrior mix on a drip system. He came up with the idea to setup 2 different drip systems into each plant. So I got 2 5 gallon buckets and 2 digital timers I can run different days. One to pump water with nutes 2 days a week and 1 to pump straight water 5 days a week. The system seems sick. I got 2 6" inline fans with one scrubber and for now 1 1000 watt light. I think this is going to work out sweet. All the ease of a hydro setup but with soil and what I feel a little less mess. He also said I could hook my reverse osmosis up to a 50 gallon trash can he said I can hook straight up to the RO system and put a water stopper in there. I am so excited about the setup. I get to keep using my Pura Vida nutes but got everything going to be somewhat automatic. He said I could also reverse the water not being used back into these buckets somehow. That seemed a little confusing but I will show you guys pics on my tent gets setup.

Question. Whats the easiest way to get the scrubber and inline fan to push that smell outside? Cut a hole and what push mush and a vent cover or ??????? Ideas. Need a little help with that part.:joint::joint::joint:

I used FFOF in the bottom 2/3s of the hole & Roots Organic in the top 1/3 of each hole. According to Subcool of TGA seeds the Roots will give a sweeter tasting Bud if used this way. I plan on trying Subcools "Supersoil" next year.It is a water only way of growing and you dont have to mix nutes, just add water. You can find the recipe on line on the Cannabis culture website.

i will just say that RO soil waters way easier. FFOF soil the water just sits on top for a min, waiting to soak in. ive planted veggie garden greens in both and lets just say all of the RO soil ones looked way better way faster than the Fox Farms. after i finish my last 2 bags of FF i really dont thing i will be buying it again......... although one AWSOME thing i have to say is that ever since FF changed thier recipie 8 months ago or so ive always gotten preditor mites (hypoapis miles) in my FF soil......... cant argue with that... goodtimez

How after this thread are we arguing which soil is better still. Veggie plants might be different but it seems pretty evident that the FF soil performed much better with yield which is what matters to me most. Drip system with a 1 minute feeding 2x a day I believe is the route I'm gonna take but these pumps are going to be on digital timers so I can tweak a bit if needed to make sure they are drying out prior to watering again.

If they're equal then what was the test about?

I don't think this was a very scientific experiment. Maybe for people who grow with the exact nutrients in the exact environment the FFOF is the clear winner but there are too many variables here. Someone would have to bite the bullet and grow two sets of water-only plants and note the responses. Then we would see the nutrient content differences of the soil. It could be that one needs less added. You can't just throw a new soil into a proven grow method and expect it to outperform the soil you used to design the grow technique.

StoneShield~ The Local RO pushers in Eugene, Or. have a few side by sides of RO/FFOF and they use veges to show. It does look as RO does better, but I suspect foul plat and nutes givin to just RO soil veges, maybe I am wrong and RO is great for vegies.
But when it comes to Cannabis the FFOF is leading the way in more seedlings growing up fast, (RO killed 3 seedlings of mine) and veg period grows faster and stronger, (RO was slow) then when it came to flowering the FFOF had dense buds and triched out, where as the RO was non dense, not fluffy, not to me trichs to see, the FFOF plants weighed in much more and had wonderful smells than the RO.

I'm a simple grower who can handle 2 soils and 2 strains and grow them the same. Only difference is plants growth and final outcome. Scientific~ No. Personal comparison and sharing what my findings~ Yes.
