Starting CFL's - Amazed by what you guys did.....

After watching all these guys Flower so damn good i had to try this Myself, i have 2 friends that grow aswell... but never turnd out like yours on this Forum :D

Guess they have done something wrong, and the didnt buy the proper cfl's .... they got the ones that cost 2 Dollars with like 400 LM ^^

Enough talk.


My Setup:


2x 32W FL Daylight ( for raising them up )

1x 125W CFL

1x 40 W CFL

1x Warddrobe ( Can adjust the size )



What am I growing ?


1x White Widow

1x Blue Mystic

My Plants havent been photo'd since today so you wont see how i started but who cares .... its allways boring ^^

Since I dont have much money and have to pay other stuff, than buying lights and paying electricity bills. This should give me sum more money to spend on myself this month. And my Bill wont be as High :)

The costs of Running a 4 x HPS 400W room here is bout for 3 months - 200-300 dollars.... So this CFL Should kick it back by about 150-250......

Today i Installed my 125 W, 40 W CFL's Looking good.......

Its currently Day 18 ! Oh and i found some pics of the older pics... found up above in the post... Anyway today is the day i start with CFLs !!! was gona go HPS ! but as i allready explaind...

I think I'm right in telling you that you should turn your bulbs sideways, not "pointed" at the plants like you have them. If someone cares to disagree, please feel free. :)

yes youre correct... to get the most from cfls they ideally need to be laying horizontally..as the emit most of their light from the sides, but it looks like he has sockets with a built in reflector that position the bulb vertically and If they were tweaked sideways i doubt itd make too much difference...
Unless you can unscrew the reflectors off

2. I was thinking of putting my 125 watt cfl sideways & am just gona get into the shower and after that, i'll update my post with pics... and the cfl correctly ^^

3.What is Mylar.... Oh just google'd it... Its that shiny stuff



4. I dont have a reflector ^^ for the CFL.....

5. I want to go into Flowering stage when it hits 25 cm !!!! <---- Moving out otherwise i would let them grow up to about 60 cm in flowering stage.....

you might find they grow to around 60cm anyhoo..
most plants double, some will poss even triple their size during flowering..
If height is gonna be a problem, i'd do a lil bit of LST before you set to flowering..
You should be able to get them tied down <20cm in overall height...just be careful not to pull them over too much to start with, or you could snap the stem.
also be gentle...tie em down and a coupla days later you should be able to pull em over some more.

Plants look good. I'm not trying to discourage you from flowering with CFLs but for 2 plants you won't need more than one 400w HPS!

true but did u know that the nlites actually have a presentatioen that tells you that a 400w hps only lets 200w usefull energy compared to the nlites wich actually live to there name... 125w = 125w ! not half of it...

I have seen my friends go into flowering and it turnd out crap, but then again the didnt use the nlites...

I think you'r totally correct what your saying but i need to see for myself... unless these guys are posting fake pictures of there indoor rooms.. ^^

Yes i will do the LST.... i was thinking of making lasso loops with Toothstring.... make about 20 lassos and just putt the loops around the leafs so it doesnt wrap around the branches...

I do want my plants to get to around 60 cm when finishd flowering....
that would be cool.......

i didn't realize you were running an experiment - that's awesome! i was just reading through and saw you had the HPS lights laying around and though it was a waste.

GOD DAMN IT ! I MUST BE SO FUCKING STUPID !

While fooling around with my light adjusting it to my plants, the stupid idiot ( me ) goas and bashed against the WW pot !
BUMMMM evrything is on the floor, the plant wasnt in sight :( it was burried underneath all the dirt !!!!!!!

I Tryd to save it and this is what happend......

OMG The WW looks so hurt on this pic.... So here you see my 125W CFL & MY 40W CFL :D ^^ * oh yeah and its Horizontal now... but i can still put in vertikal if i dont like it ;).....

OH YEAH ! IF you guys didnt tell me to put in horizontal i wouldnt of nearly kill'd my WW :D

Sorry for my stupidity.... i should of taken the plants out of there and workd in a clean space... :D oh yeah not mention all the dirt on the carpet :-? !!!

so you got 4 flo's insted of 4 400hps'es.
i dont under stand you were going to get 4 400hps,but they cost too much to run, so you got 4 flos,
but
you wouldnt need 4 400hps for two plants, you would only need 1 250hps even for 3 or 4 plants.
the lite you have for now will be ok, for vegging for 4/5 week, but then,your plants wont get enuf lite, to the lower parts of the plants, unless you have them all over your grow closet.
you would be better off keeping the flos for vegging/clones ect, and get another closet with a 250/4oo hps.just 1. and use this for a 12/12 room. so then you will always have plants, insted of waiting for the cycle to end before start again.3 to 4 months all together.1 grow,its a long time,plus its best to stagger,if your new. in case awt goes wrong,you have a back up.

^^ Well to be honest with you i grow about 25 plants at once.... but i'm moving out and ppl will be coming round to view the apartment so that the can be the next renters.... I have the Redspectrum on those plants btw.. for Flowering and late veg... im just doing a stupid experiment.... who knows you might be even seeing sum very nice buds.....

My plants wont be any teller than 70 cm after flowering..... i have to move out in excatly 11 weeks... leaving me another 3 weeks for veg if i want to... wich i wont.. i will going to flowering in about 1 and a half weeks, just to see what happens..... i got enough smoke stored ^^........

Then i will be flowering for excactly 8 weeks ! so that leaves me another 3 weeks to clean, pack evrything together, get rid of all the stuff i dont need in my apartment... and then i'm gona ! moving into a wicked house, where i wont be disturb'd and you guys will see the best weed in switzerland ^^
