Question About Playing Guitar

Hey, well i was playing my guitar and see i always strum/pick the strings in between the 2 pickups witch is right above the body, but just know i played a chord by strumming it right where the neck begins. I think that it sounds more harsh and rattily when i strum in in between the pickups and when i play on the beggining of the neck it sounds more warm and smooth. Any thoughts? Where do you pick at?

It's all preference alot of guys move around depending on what is being played. Move toward the bridge and it gets Twangy, towards the neck is softer not as much attack. Move the pick around in your hand and you will find even more sounds. It all comes in time the more you explore the more you learn. I have been playing for 20+ years and learn every day.

i prefer hitting the strings just a LITTLE in front of the hole of the body. but as wormy said, experiment and discover the variety of sound that comes from the G!

more tension at the bridge less tension the farther away you get. i personally don't like they way it feels in my hands to pick by the bridge
