im now using reg seeds, some look big and fat, and some are tinner and more scraggy.
would the bigger fatter seeds, out of the same packet, be male?. due to them looking better, like a plant would.
normaly in nature ,
things that are male, are normaly better looking.
if you know what i mean ladys. no offence.
is this so?. or just a silly question.

hahahahaha....that's gonna happen regardless of what you do or say....stress comes natural to some.....yeah in general through the natural kingdom the males are the ones that get the bigger horns, the brighter colours etc etc.....but like I said there are exceptions as well.....sexual dimorphism.......most mammals have large males, but the opposite is true for fish, insects, amphibians, reptiles, and birds.

i know of no statistically significant way to determine which seeds are male and which are female including size/appearance.

and i think had you phrased your question something like: Like male birds displaying beautiful plumage or males generally being the larger of the species , do you think the larger, more decorative looking seeds could indicate they are male?

that way you leave the value judgement of better/stronger out of it and keeps the folks sensitive to it calm enough to answer your question rather than reprimanding you for your choice of words. I know you would be saying the same thing but ....

tahoe, kudos on the sexual dimorphism term Generally speaking, mj cultivation is very much a matriarchal (sp?) practice. For nearly all strains of mj, the female plant is vastly superior to the male. Any mj farmer will tell you to kill any male plants the second you spot balls. The female mj plant is superior because it produces the buds, and the unpollinated female crop, aka, sinsemilla (from the spanish: sin=without, semilla=seeds) is what yields the big, phat beautiful unadultered ganja buds everybody's after. In mj cultivation, there is rarely use for males (except breeding), whereas the females are what produce the nugs.

hey PM.....I totally understand where you are coming form. I am not as completely convinced on the current status being the "reality" or is this more of an expression of our selective breeding? I am not trying to make a right or wrong type of statement, I am trying to best understand the "original nature" of cannabis versus the commercialized and domesticated cannabis. I posted a link the other day that clearly demonstrated natural wild growing Kansas road ditch weed, that had no significant different in cannabinoid content between males and females. As for selective breeding, running thoroughbreds aqt less than a year, and having them breakdown before they turn three is huge from the commercial aspect of the horse racing buisness....but in terms of the original nature of the horse, little resemblence.
