Sunshine is just peat mostly I think.Roots is very similar to fox farms. I also put in some kelp meal and dolomite for ph buffering. From what I have read you should wait 2-3 weeks after planting in the hot medium like ff or roots organic before adding any nutes then do it 1/4 or 1/2 strength. I did it at half strength at 600 ppm. It will be interesting to see what the ppm is when I check the runoff when I feed next time. I am going to increase to 750 or 800 on 3 of the strains next feeding. I mix my nutes in 5 gallon buckets.....it takes almost 15 gallons to feed. I will just do the plants with the lighter leaves with a stronger ppm. Shouldn't be a problem as long as I don't fuck up and hit the wrong plant with the hose.
Here is a good question. How long after starting flowering do I switch to the flowering nutes? I was think it would take 2 weeks of veg nutes then switch....I think I may have read that somewhere. I have been reading everything I can get my hands on lately. Demonoid has many many grow videos and grow books to read and watch. I think I learned more from the old sea of green videos from the 80s then anything. Man those guys had some balls back then with those big grows in old abandoned trailers and such. Lot of risk....lot of cash back then I guess also. I would never sell to anyone...not worth it. I may share a bowl with a close friend sometimes but never risk losing my prescription and jail time. Not worth it.
