I understand the "takeover" by big tobacco. But, why don't you look at it this way, if it is LEGAL for cultivation by anyone over the age of 21 and legal to transport it. Then why would you buy it from anywhere else? Just stick with your same connect or compassionate caregiver at the moment? With everything in life there will be opposition. Prop 19 will pave the road to uplift prohibition. If I was a resident of California, I wouldn't buy my "Doobz" from the local bodega but instead drive out to ole "Jerry's" farm and just grab a zip of the REAL homegrown. Think about it, you're not FORCED to buy the LEGAL cannabis being sold, you're still able to grow it, and transport it, LEGALLY! Does anyone see my point I am trying to get across? Just be glad you're not in a state where you go to jail for a roach, and I am not talking about the pest that scatter when the lights turn on.

you need to read the bill then. it's full of shifty wording that isn't acceptable. They only give you a 5"x5" grow space at minimum. and you can only have an ounce at a single time no matter where it is.
The big industry will shut down all small "Jerry's Farm" that you are talking about so you have to buy from them. It's CALLED A CARTEL!!!!

Unless you have your 215. Then you can have up to 3 pounds in some areas.

Unless Jerry starts his own legal business.

Some of those reasons happen to be completly invented speculation. Others are misinformation.

Example:

8. Prop 19 will likely supersede prop 215, adversely affecting medical cannabis users by dictating grow size, possession amount, patient to patient sales, and location of use.
That's just not true.

3. Prop 19 is solely designed to allow large scale cannabis production by politically connected corporations. Oakland has already granted a license to the Prop 19 Cartel.
Again, not true. Anyone can start a cannabis related business under prop 19 assuming you're not a convicted felon.

No and NO, omg i can't stand what you just said.

First the bill NEVER says anything about 3 pounds in "some areas" it's the entire state's bill. Certain counties, bases on your medical record, MAY give you a bigger script, but that's just wishful thinking isn't it?

Second, there are only 4 licenses at this time that will allow only 4 "legal" businesses the right to grow Medical Marijuana in the state of California.

3 pounds is legit in my county, so no, not wishful thinking. Yes, the bill never says anything about 3 pounds, but it doesn't negate prop 215 either, which allows up to 3 pounds depending on county. It also allows to raise recreational limits to.

Let's get this clear so I'm not "assuming" anything. Are you or are you not implying prop 19 will take erase our rights under prop 215? The language you are using is very misleading. You're making it sound like prop 19 will remove patients rights to have a medical garden. That is not true at all.

Second, there are only 4 licenses at this time that will allow only 4 "legal" businesses the right to grow Medical Marijuana in the state of California.
"At this time" being the key phrase there. Because only one city has made preemptive laws operating under the assumption that 19 will pass.

Exactly what I said, there is opposition to everything in life. It's a vote that every man and woman are entitled to for their OWN decision. At minimum a 5" by 5" area? That's 5 inch by 5 inch minimum? Well what's the maximum then? And as for the whole oz in your possession, so what, who's REALLY going to be driving around with 14 pounds of freshly cured bud just going for a stroll in the park? At some point common sense kicks in my man. I would understand 2 or 3 ounces after growing your own, and going out of town on a trip. But if you're just strolling in the late night with the misses are you REALLY going to have more than an ounce on your person, honestly? As far as on ounce in your home, geez, let's see, some folks hide TONS while being searched by law enforcement now LoL. The ony "Cartel" out there is the Mexican's in Mexico making a killing off of a plant that people in the U.S. are now finally seeing what they could do with it and the market for it. Be proud to be American and stand behind the #1 cash crop of America. I would LOVE nothing more than to see Medicinal Cannabis in my state, or legalization, but it is a FARRRR ways away. Racism is still VERY strong down here and the "good ole boy" is still tied in with the farming industry heavily. Too many "people" are making money off of it being illegal than if it were legal.

He meant 5 foot x 5 foot. But cities and counties would be allowed to raise that limit as high as they want. They can also raise the one ounce possession limit as high as they want.

For some people if they can't get full and complete legalization all at once in the format of a single flawless bill, they will reject and even fight against legalization attempts. Others are making such a fantastic profit off of prohibition that they are pretending to be against prop 19 for other reasons. Other people are against prop 19 because they've been fed massive amounts of misinformation.

Luckily, the people opposing prop 19 here are just a small vocal minority.

I am not even a resident of Cali, but I am for it. Everything happens in the west and fades East. My state is slow even on Medical but hey. There's other states around me with more populus who need extra money also lol. So go right ahead Cali and Vote Yes on Prop 19.

If it passes here, hopefully it causes a chain reaction that will lead to an end to prohibition in your state.

It will be funny to see this pass, then a year later everyone asking for a re-vote and told to stick it in their ass. I read this entire bill and it only takes away or limits current provisions and adds criminal penalties to currently legal actions. Talk about a step backwards.

oh really? so right now if i walk down the street and a douchebag cop decides he has probable cause to search me and he finds weed, its illegal

but if this passes i can walk down the street with weed and there isnt shit he can do

so tell me, what does this make illegal for me now exactly?
