while Rollitup "claims" that there server is in maryland, because that is a legal marijuana state, the server is really in az. This is easily verified. Call godaddy and ask where there servers are located. I have.

If you do a whois, you'll see godaddy mentioned, and "domanins by proxy" which is a godaddy only product.

You (as the owner of a site) can easily alter the results of a "whois" to some degree, hence rollitp claiming to be in maryland.
But...ALL godaddy servers are located in arizona.

This makes a serious security threat for all members of rollitup.org.

I just thought you all should know your security and privacy is in danger while visiting this site. :peace:

i say.. what difference does it make what state it is in? I dont think state police will be searching rollitup for local people. It would be the FBI or something trying to get people and then it wouldnt make a difference because there is still a federal law against marijuana that would override the state laws. But even besides that, marijuana is still illegal in Maryland. Just because they have medical marijuana laws doesnt mean everyone can smoke without going to jail. I think people like fdd would be gone by now if anyone was in danger

Dudes lying, it is not hosted by godaddy. Its hosted by domainsbyproxy.com. This dude is just being a baby cause he got banned.

The site is hosted outside of US and we have gotten several confirms from RIU there is no IP logging on the PHPBB. Why should I believe the guy with 10 posts and multiple threads about the same subject? Im calling BS and claiming you as a TROLL...

Let me try to find RIU's posts about this matter many months ago...

Even if it's true, MrJ2 is right. It doesn't matter what state the server is in. If you are contributing information in a state or country where the actions are illegal, then you are breaking the law. I could be in Texas or North Dakota. Assuming that the server is in Maryland like the OP says, I'm still breaking the law because those two states say that the information I'm contributing on their infrastructure is illegal.

Only the Canadians are safe! :P

He is just a member who got banned, wanted to stir the pot a little before he left....hes a baby. Everything is fine here.

lol it's still in the air.. They are lenient here on use. Also though keep in mind it's still illegal no matter what anybody says. In the same breath though they are a hell of alot more relaxed here in Canada then the USA.

so what, you might not be 100% secure here?!?!...correct me if i'm wrong, but anthing you do online is traceable, from email to thread posting to IM/PM.
You can hide your i.p addy if your paranoid..but the feds still have ways to find out that stuff..
truth is, feds wont be reading this lookin to bust smalltime HG, if you start posting bout your monster 20k plant grow, youre gonna attract attention..

If youre still bothered by the fact you cant EVER know who's browsing the board...its simple:- delete your account.

The Mods here do their best to keep this place free from cretins and react to poss security issues quickly..MUCH RESPECT to them for that..
But this site, like every other is not impregnable..If security was soooo much of an issue this place prolly wouldnt be online.

Dont sweat it...
Threads like this create nothing more than unecessary strife..
