think of it as the difference between eating a steak and a protein shake. Soil and soil nutes are less concentrated but more "natural" i guess, which some people prefer. Hydro nutes are concentrated just for the plants specific needs. They require a lot more care and skill in using properly. I am sure you could probably use hydro nutes in soil, but why would you when there is perfectly good soil nutes?

what? lol

soil nutes aren't chelated for hydro; the salts will fallout in a matter of days, if not hours. hydro nutes are formulated to stay chelated in water only, as soil nutes are made to be absorbed by soil.

usually soil ferts are more concentrated than hydro nutes per directed usuage (ie, mg vs gh).

hydro nutes will work in soil, but flush out very quickly; soil nutes cannot be used in hydro (at least i don't recommend it), and remain in soil longer than hydro nutes (residual effect).

i'm not spot on right now; too stoned to play professor kp :p

I use hydro nutes for my soil plants. I mix up a 20 litre of water with the according nutes and ph it and just use that to water with. Fill it up again when empty. Works for me. Now you only have to use a small amount mind you. But the (DNF) hydro nutes work for both soils and hydro. They even give the recommened amounts for each. Good luck.:peace:

do you go back and forth from nutrient water and regular water? or do you give only nutrient water?
