This is my first grow I am 3 days into my 3rd week of growing, I am using DWC a double outlet air pump a six inch bouble stone in each, in a closet 3ftX5ft, two plants each in a 5gallon bucket with net pot built into the lid, a fan blowing. I am using Flora Nova, I am usign 3 gallons of water per bucket with 1tsp of nutes in each bucket, water out of the faucet ppm is 0.30 after I add the nutes it goes to 0.70, I am using 4 T5 bulbs 4ft long, I use the color scale with drops to test my ph, which is at 6.0, I started using Sure2Grow cubes, surounded in hydroton which was rinsed out befor being used. The strain is unknown.
My leaves are turning yellow I believe it might be a lack of calcium, which I am going to go buy some Cal-Mag. The pics are of both plants.
What does any one think, and if I am right how much do I use. I an not a veteran so if I am wrong please steer me in the right direction.
Thanks.

I would get a digital PH meter mate

it would be too hard to use a colour scale becoz most Nutes have colour in them and it might not give you
decent read out

Nute burn? With a .70 EC, I don't think so.

I highly doubt 1 tsp per 5 gallons is going to do to much of anything, either. Why don't you try adding, say, 3/4 of what's recommended on the side of the nute bottle, then go from there?

Looks ok for just growing in water.

...or you could give my nutes a try--

You treating 3 gallons? Send me a PM and ill send you a packet that'll treat 3 gallons of h20. A perfect blend, man.

Peace.

looks kinda like the start of a toxic salt buildup. I'd flush and then stick to about 1/2 strength nutes till she gets a little older

Salt buildup in hydroton? With 1 tsp of product per 3 gallons?

If you follow the instructions on the side of Floranova, your plant will get plenty of Calcium, believe me- gh is generous with it.

You do not need to go out and buy Cal-Mag.

If you are using 3 gallons, add a total of 3-4 teaspoons. Not 1. GH Floronova has 4% calcium.

Try it and get report results. If leaves get worse overnight, dump solution and go back to original mix.
