Public Intoxication - Damn Kid

So he was charged by police with pi? When you say pi do you mean intoxicated on weed or alcahol? I would expect nothing more than a slap on the wrist. You get a lawyer and chances are you will prolly get a continuence without a finding. Have your lawyer ask for that. They can't do shit cuz a pack of smokes smelt like weed. I would fight really hard for your child to not go to that other school. Those are the schools that ruin children.
The school thing is the only thing I will fight.

I'm an asshole, for sure.
Yeah, it's pretty well understood that pot smokers like chill people, not ass's, so why are you even here?

I'm not in the mood for a fight, but this is a serious question... What are you trying to prove? That you understand the workings of the system better than a bounty hunter who deals with it EVERY DAY? That you have raised 30 pot smoking boys and none of them have made mistakes?

You need to go smoke a bowl and turn down your ego a bit:peace:

Rkm, I just want to say you're doing the right thing by showing him the consequences of the law and how his actions are going to put him face to face with the scary U.S. justice system if he does not tread lightly and use some common sense. I think it'll be the wake up call he might need to realize that cannabis is illegal for now, and if he's going to partake, he's gotta fly under the radar like the rest of us.
As for what may happen, it's just a PI and his first offense, so he could easily get off with diversion (it's a plea of guilt, but it shows up on records that the case was thrown out), and maybe at the worst a strict probation. In that case, stay on him and make sure he stays clean (or at least has a job for some detox) so as to pass the piss tests.

I've been through a couple times, and my own father was great in that he told me he wasn't going to spend a lot of money on a lawyer because I had to see that my actions with marijuana could have deep consequences because of the corrupt "drug" systems in our country. Then he rolled the greatest spliff I've ever seen, and taught me to treat cannabis with respect, because it's sort of like the Universe's gift to us to help us take time out of our day to relax and open up the senses. It was about the most spiritual thing that atheist ever said to me.
I would never think to tell you how to raise your kids, that's the biggest douche thing to do, but I will never forget the day when my old man decided it was time he stop taking a passenger's seat to my ganja-infused life, and show me that it will all be okay someday, but for now I just had to be patient and smoke where it's safe.

He has only said about 5 words to me the entire weekend, but he certainly came down to eat dinner when it was done. Its all good, hes sucking up now. Cleaned his room, swept the hallway and stairs, took out the garbage, and cleaned the leaves up so my basement does not flood when it rains, all without being told to. Even did his own laundry.

Got your point. ;)

He tends to do the things he is supposed to be doing anyway without being asked to when he is in deep shit. I am not convinced yet, but we still need to sit and talk, I still have not calmed down enough yet to talk and not get all pissed off again. I still need to let him know what he is has actually gotten himself into. I dont think he totally understands what is about to happen.

I think hes trying to teach his son that he needs to learn how to avoid the law.
You don't really think that is what he is doing, right?

Don't be a fucking noob. He isn't putting up a stink cause he is growing weed in his closet. He is avoiding the law. Isn't that right? I bet your shitting just having to go in the court room. Ha, ha, ha, what if your son says something then--eh? He already did once, right?

Yeah, you can call me fuck all - I got mine too, you know?

Yes, Truu nailed it totally. My son would not take my advice, thats his choice. By not following my advice he has landed himself into trouble. Now, what is he going to learn if I get him out of trouble and he just sits back and let me do all the work? You know what that teaches kids? That teaches kids that no matter what they do mom and/or dad will always be there to dig their ass out of a hole when they run into problems, I am not always going to be here for him. If he does not learn this now, when should he? When he is 21 and gets busted for running around the corner to his buddies house with a pound when all he needed to take was a joint? We agree to disagree but if these kids now a days do not learn some common sence things at young ages we are all fucked. Mom and Dads are the problem for the most part, they spend big bucks to get their kids out of trouble when they should have been learning a lesson. Chewy, if that is your parenting style, so be it. I am not going to knock you. But when you are dead and gone and your kid gets into trouble who is going to get him out of it? Will he have learned what to do and not to do? Will he know how to get himself out of trouble? Will he know what not to do so that he does not get caught in the first place?

I am very aware that the judge will ask my son where he got it from. I am prepared for that. I am not freaking out, I have no problem dealing with judges. They put their pants on the same way I do. I have talked to many judges and been in the courtroom myself, hell, I handled my own divorce by myself. I am the one that dealt with the judges, no lawyer was ever involved. Trust me, I am well aware that he will probably tell the judge where he got it from. Its no big deal. I will have every thing clean by then. I expect an ass chewing from the judge that is just as much part of the problem as everyone else in our government regarding this plant.

I dont care that my son stole some of my stash(well I am, but you know what I mean I hope). I dont care he smoked it. I care that he sold it, and he got caught high at school, after I talked to them about what to do if they decide to smoke. Thats the only thing I am pissed off about.

Cool, I am quick to judge. Can admit when I'm wrong too. You sound solid, and I am probably wrong about you. Either way, I'm done being the ass in this thread. :joint:

most likely you need to build up real trust with your son, buying a locking doorknob for your closet will not help the situation, you need to get to the bottom of it, imo.

But really its hypocritical of you to say that your kids cannot smoke weed when they see you doing it. So you cant expect anything more from them.

Man, please dont start all this up again. Looks like we just straightened Chewy out on the plan and that I am not hanging my son out to dry.

Re-read the thread please and then post. You do not have all the facts to be posting on this subject yet. Your comment proves that. At no time have I ever been hypocritical. Get your facts straight before you post please. I do not smoke in front of my kids. I might as well now, it is certainly out on the table now. And lets just say this has been going on for awhile, just getting worse before it gets better.

I did not lock the closet door, I locked my bedroom door. The plants are in my bedroom closet. I put a lock on the door so that also when I am in the shower he does not come into my room and take money out of my wallet. Its just not my weed I am protecting by putting a lock on my bedroom door. He has sticky fingers as well, and its not from sticky buds.

This has been going on for awhile, its just finally come to a head. Lets just say, I relocated my .45 from the closet 2 years ago to another household.
