thanks vento i did notice my latest clone looked a lot better after a few mistings. i thought roots were the only part of the plant that COULD absorb water. quick question about a humidity dome... could i use something i have around the house? like i got some huge glass jars n some plastic cookie containers with holes in them. does it just have to raise humidity n allow light thru or will certain materials effect the plant?
Hi ya Hubba
When you mist your plants its actualy to reduce the transpiration of water from the leaves to stop them drying out , But they also take in small amounts of the oxygen rich water , Overmisting will result in slow root uptake and mould , After cuttings have been taken ... you have to kind of imagin them as being in intencive care ... keep a close eye on them ... make sure conditions are rigth for them and they will be fine
Im not sure about useing a glass dome ... it may cook them
.... I have used a tall Pint glass on one of my clones ... and 5 tall clear plastic soup containers ... and they seem to be doing just fine in both types
, I think the glass may not be a good idea ...but i had no alternative at the time ...so we will see
... Whatever you use make sure its clean and that you take it off every few hoursr ( in the first days ) just to blow some air on them and give the insde a quick misting
Hope that helps
