If the November bill gets passed, what does that mean for us growers?

Yes there is. Prop 19 has nothing to do with medical law. It is about recreational use.
What I am saying is that it does have to do with it because the Prop WILL RESTRICT USE OF THIS MEDICINE FOR MEDICAL PATIENTS.

Why is this bill and the people who support it neglecting the medical users of marijuana who are the ones who should be considered first priority in regards to the proposed change through limitation of use?

I think if the prop passes that the state of California will end up in a binding and prohibitive contract we did not read thoroughly enough. I believe this prop will screw more people over than it will help, especially sick people who need cannabis at reasonable prices.

The initiative itself is a hazy maze of regulations and controls, some of which are ambiguous and confusing even for those well-versed in marijuana law. Understandably, many who have entered the discussion seem to have bypassed the initiative altogether and gone straight to their own assumptions of what an initiative that claims to legalize marijuana might entail, injecting the debate with as many misconceptions as facts. But for an issue that would have such a direct and unprecedented impact on our daily lives, it’s crucial to decide your vote based on knowledge, rather than assumption.

I am so tired of this crap. I am appalled at the even larger mess the big boys in the MMJ community have created. Medical, small, personal growers (like myself) are going seemingly going to be subjected to an usurpation of our right, that we possess already (so I will NOT vote for 19), to grow for ourselves without having to pay the fucking government for our own medicine? That we ALREADY pay sales and utility taxes to cultivate is not enough? And there are probably some other ones in the equation somewhere. That is like taxing every asshole that has a vegetable garden. I would love to hear what ASA says about all of this, and further, what they are doing to protect patients, and furthermore; CAN I HELP PROTECT PATIENTS RIGHTS??? It's really cool that so many people, for-hire politicians and Napolean complex growers, came together as there own collective in an attempt dispense with our rights. So everyone of those a-holes that wants to tax the bejesus out of us has to believe that the ENTIRE market of growing will benefit from having only a few buyers instead of what, tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands? So companies that make all the cool nutes and toys will get to feel the hurt when these mega-producers dictate what they are going to pay, because NO ONE ELSE WILL BE BUYING THAT CRAP. They will drop like flies. And furthermore, what about these attorneys that make a killing from growers getting busted? They don't want to have clientele? Best Buy doesnt want (mostly) young males with liquid cash to spend money at their stores anymore? None of the other stores want as many people to buy things either, its just too fucking complicated. So effectively, the entire distribution of the wealth market around weed will funnel directly into the government and the cartels? What is even more fucking absurd is the droning about "how much it will help california" from all the mountains of money they are going to get in tax dollars. Big Bullshit. California needs to reassess its forecasts on this one, how the hell is it going to enforce the soon-to-be rebel growers to pay the taxes? Are police officers going to know what strains are being offered at my "mcdonalds of marijuana" and be able to tell the damn difference? How can they be so hoodwinked by lobbyists giving them current numbers of growers and multiplying the tax dollars, and not the future numbers which will be far lower. And of course the "mcdonalds of marijuana" will be a huge company and get tax breaks and and probably end up returning FAR less back into the system than the current model. California will need to spend money, in essence become the weed-mafia's bitch, in order to enforce these statutes. The only way California will make money is by enforcement, and that will cost them. And then if you dont pay, there is the threat of incarceration, if I remember correctly california cant afford the inmates it has, so now it must absolutely re-prioritize and bust medical growers with their (1) 400 watt hps? So, California is wishing upon a shooting star that this will mean big-bucks, but has nothing tangible to go off of, admist this AWESOME RECOVERY OF AMERICA. I hope that all current MMJ growers actually fucking vote, and vote no this november. I hope to God that real conservatives of America come out in November and cut through the bullshit of 19 and Meg Whitman. Art Oliver in 2010!!

How are they going to do that? When you started medical growing did you immediately inform the authorities that you were growing for medical purposes? No, you didn't (unless you're retarded). Why would that change now?

How are they going to know you're growing for medical purposes? Even if you're vending to clubs you can still sell your shit on consignment, avoiding any legal paperwork. You're just looking for a reason to complain tbh...

Fair enough. All I'm trying to say is no one is going to tax your personal grow because you're not going to be telling the authorities about it most likely. I apologize if the way I said that the first time made me sound like I was trying to be a dick to you.

what do you think will happen if/when they catch you NOT paying your taxes?

it will happen and people will go to jail.

Rancho Cordova readies measure to tax marijuana cultivators
Voters in Rancho Cordova will decide in November whether to tax residents who grow their own pot.
The city measure, put on the Nov. 2 ballot by the City Council this week, would impose taxes on all local residential cultivation if California voters approve Proposition 19 to legalize recreational use.
But the city's proposed "Personal Cannabis Cultivation Tax" also makes no distinction between medical and recreational cultivation. So the tax would kick in for anyone currently cultivating for personal medical use -- whether Prop 19 passes or not.
If passed by local voters, the taxation measure in the Sacramento County city would make at-home cultivation a much more expensive endeavor.
The Rancho Cordova measure would impose a $600 annual tax per square foot of indoor cultivation of 25 square feet of marijuana or less and a $900 per square foot tax if the indoor growing area is more than 25 square feet.
The city tax would cost a local indoor grower $6,000 a year on 10 square feet of pot plants and $15,000 for 25 square feet. Outdoor growers, who would be billed at a lower rate, would pay a $1,200 residential tax for 25 square feet of marijuana plants.

If Proposition 19 passes, it would allow California adults over 21 to cultivate in a 25-square foot residential space. Medical growers often exceed those limits by cultivating with other pot patients.
Under California law, individuals with physicians' recommendations for marijuana can have six mature or 12 immature plants and eight ounces of dried pot at any time.
The California Supreme Court has ruled that medical users can exceed those limits if their cultivation is consistent with their medical needs.

So yeah, this doesn't relate to prop 19 since it would be in effect regardless of if prop 19 passes. It's a bad local policy. I agree with that. But how does prop 19 have to do with that?
