And he said its a mogul base so it probaly is a 300 w one.

His reason for the post is he's tired of switching out hoods from his cfl to his hps hood!

it s what i said ,for the cfl he should ditch the ballast and put a plug at the end of the wire(where the ballast was) and connect it directly at 230 v......or whichever voltage he has on his home electrics

Come to think of it the bulb is indeed self ballasted, how it didn't explode after the 5 hour test run, I am not sure. However, I do realize this is clearly a bad move on my behalf and thus I opted to purchased a cheap reflector from ebay fitted with the large mogul socket and a UK 3-Pin plug.

People here are getting too aggressive, sorry I can't be here every 5 Seconds to directly answer someone's post, I appreciate all the help, but I can't sit here all day waiting for a post to reply to

ok and i see that not even a north american set up. it looks like uk...diff voltages and everything than over here,. diff ones moguls, all of it.....if this is a uk set up. i heard its hard to find cfl set ups over there...or was.

if it ran a reg mogul and was self ballast then screw to that mogul and run wire to it then right to wall outlet. no need for anything else. i made my own bat wing for a large cfl or hid here for under 15 buk, wire and all
have a pic if you want. real simple

I couldnt find the 300w one to post" - kingofqueen.........why i posted that comment is they try and say its equal to a 1k hid...relay. when does a 1k only pump out 10k lumnes. should be around 150k. is why i said my 2 buck flouro t-12 puts out more than what theirs does...guess i meant that that bulb is a joke...its a night light for going to the bathroom at night....that was just a joke. go easy..
