Homegrown taste?????

im growing for the first time indoors and i was told unless i do something special then my plants will taste homegrown or like hay....any truth to this?

I would say those folks smoked some that the grower used too much miracle grow hahah, and doesn't dry it properly. And BTW why are you telling people your growing? LoL good luck with that one.

That is completely untrue. All you need to do is keep the sucker alive! That's the problem I had on my first indoor grow, just be very liberal with your question-asking on this forum and you will be helped out unconditionally. Peace and good luck!

thanks for the advise...i have been using miracle grow so maybe ill stop now? im on day 3 of flowering so im sure its not too late.

No! The taste will depend on lot of factor.

-The nutriments you will use and the way you flush them. (Flushing the last 1-2 week with plain PH water)
-The way you cure your buds (3-4 Weeks in mason jar opening them once a day for few minutes.)
-The love you will give to your plants (Avoid stress)
-STRAIN is also a huge factor. (Some strain will have their specific smell and some will smell more earthy while some will smell more like pine sol, candy & many other)

Take all that in consideration and you will see that it can change lot

I think whoever told you that was smoking very poorly cured bud.

Yep, as others said, if you don't cure properly then it won't taste right, and curing is an often overlooked process for a new grower.

The hay smell is typically something I associate with fermentation. Usually it's associated with buds that weren't properly dried before being packaged, or bud that has been packaged too tightly.

I don't about any weed that taste like that but anything grown and cured the right way won't taste like hay.
