Diving right in - my journal

Glad to be a part of this one. Tried to answer, then lost it again due to pm's. Now I've found it again.

I've never vegged beneath flouros before so i don't really know how bad they are, I just know that i don't even rate them for clones.
i use the 4ft fixtures for vegging and etc..... now im interested in making the change to mh for vegging......
Ive always wondered why people claim that vegging clones for 10days longer makes up for the size difference in plants buts ive never understood it. Now i do. It DOSENT really make that much of a difference with fluros but with MH it may because that growth is coming along at a GREAT rate.

this light is amazing. :hump:

i just gave them their first feeding. i used a 1/2 gallon of good water. added 1/2 a cap full of super thrive and 1 teaspoon of "kick start" 1-2-1. :blsmoke:

This is definitely an interesting grow fdd. Like all the containers :)

Is the little one in the clay pot doing okay?

Hey fdd. Looking good, although i did notice a water droplet on one leaf. these can be dangerous under big lights and can burn holes in your leaves.

i used MG soil. it comes with bugs. if a seedling is slow breaking thru the soil the buggies in it get to the sprout. they get inside and eat the first leaves before they get a chance to emerge. i have three that this happened to. if i was still using floros i don't think they would have made it. i'm pretty sure with this new light these will. :blsmoke:.......

i almost worried about it. then i kept a close eye on it. i've been doing it since i first got the light. not on purpose. i'm watering with a 1/2 gallon spray bottle. it gets a little mist here and there. my fan is blowing hard enough that it dries out before any damage is done.

good luck with that .:spew: thats why i use compost and sift it through a miners screen......
perhaps leave them in a paper towel utill the seed cap comes all the way off and the leaves are emerged then transplant them. i do this with 100% success rate.

yeah nature represent! im going to be making my first outdoor journal soon too. thinking i need to get a new digi camera though cause mine cost $20 and is a piece of crap (no zoom, no flash, etc.....) and i wont be able to cope with lighting conditions

hey fdd, what are your outdoor strain plans?

I'm going to be doing an outdoors grow as well, but it's my first. any tips? you start next month strait to outdoors (which seems early also) or you transplant clones or what?

yea this should be interesting
i have the 2 of those 400w hps setups from High Tech Garden Supply and i bought a mh conversion bulb from my local hydro store
so you like the mh better than the flours huh?
im glad to hear i made the right choice
i almost went with flours because of electricity costs but the mh makes all my plants grow fast
I have a bonsai black olive tree that was dying because my parakeet cheewed off all the bark from the trunk
being that it was winter and by the window it just wasnt thriving like before
I put it into my veg room and it started growing leaves in days
in regular sun before its injury it wouldnt grow leaves in months!
anyway
looking good
here are some of my new sprouts in the hydro system for about 3 days now

since im using fluros ive already started my outdoor sativa clones going..... and they are about 6-8 inches tall ive got some raft beans coming up too that i plan on cloning for my indoor before i put them outside.(i usually try to do this so i dont bring bugs back inside on the clones after vegging them outdoors).

but i have a question....could i bury a half inch pvc pipe in my soil pots, with holes drilled every 6 inches or so, to help water get down to my roots better or would this not help any more than pouring water right on top of the soil?
srry for putting all this shit in your journal. figured your a mod, if you dont want it there youd take it out. lol:blsmoke:
