hey guys, as you probably know I grew two strains this year

One is confirmed Durgamata and the other ones a random bag seed variety, got lucky this year.

Right now my ladies are thickening up nicely, but with this durgamata strain the window of potency is kinda small so I am asking you guys, the pros what you suggest

I started these really early, and I have been bringing them in at night, I force flowered them by fuckin up their light cycle so I know it is a little early to be talking about harvesting I just think I may have forced them to finish early, which is decent I guess but I want to make sure! :)

heres some pics! the low flat buds is the durgamata strain, I wish you could smell it its actually kind of overpowering. the other long buds is probably jack herer or northern lights. dont judge me on that I am just thinking of strains that I did have alot of last year.

look at these pics! these are the babies that were getting eaten by bugs beginning of the year and you helped me out! : )

I helped them get better and obviously they have payed me back for my efforts! :)

and two more weeks I shall wait :) thank you.

you see the durgamata strain tho, shes hard to read, the tric's are all over the place lol the hairs are not a good reader for this strain.

two weeks I will wait, after seeing your "trees" I think you know a bit more than I do ;)

thank you

Id have to agree with fdd, you can tell when your buds are mature, I am still learning but two years ago I asked the same question, I picked a few buds when I asked and then harvested when I was told, like night and day.

as for this durgamata strain you can see the trichome production is huge, if I was to use the magnifying glass approach I would have harvested today.

our friend Fdd here is kind of like a connoisseur in my eyes, I have used the magnifying glass approach but theres never a sure way to tell unless you step back and take a look at your buds, in some of these pics there is white hairs growing again so its all in the eyes of the beholder, obviously if before two weeks Im noticing any amber trichomes I will harvest but usually you can tell by a couple close up bud pics, theres usually a way to tell to the experienced grower.

i'd say 2 weeks max. some of the pics looked really close, others still producing.

those scopes only focus in on a handful of trichs from a very specific location. some trichs turn amber sooner than others. typically the trichs on the leaf tips, which tends to be where most people use their scope.

when checking for ripeness you have to look at the plant as a whole. you should be able to tell from a foot or two away if they are done or not. the buds will look "white" from all the cloudy trichs. not sparkly, but dull white. almost all the hairs will be brown and the calyxes will be swollen.

lamest thing every introduced to cannabis growing.
YOUR FACE IS LAME!!
lol

You can play the guessing game if you want, but id rather get with the times be a little more pricise and have more control over my high. I get that when you do things the same way for a long time, especially when that way has worked "just fine" with acceptable results. If your broke thats one thing but LAMEST THING EVER? Come on.
Besides you can better control the type high produced if you harvest based on trichomes.

For maximum THC content and a more cerebral and energetic high, harvest your plants when about 50% of the trichomes have turned from clear to a milky translucent color.Waiting until about 50% of the trichomes have turned from a milky translucent color to amber will result in marijuana that produces a combination of cerebral and body intoxication.
If you harvest when a majority of the trichomes are amber colored, the marijuana will produce more of a sleepy body stone than it would have if it were harvested earlier.

lol fdd he actually just cut and pasted it from the internet lol

marijuana matures unevenly, fdd is right, usually people tend to look at a couple trich's go oh shes done and reap it.

you can tell this by plucking some of the smaller buds at the bottom, may look all juicy and lovely but the calyxes on the inside have yet to swell..

I only asked now because as he said some of it does look mature, but its pretty amazing what your plant goes thru in its last stages, you can easily mess up and pick too early based on trichome production.

before you go on beansly, check out fdd's albums. the mans a god in my eyes LOL :)

I live like 10 minutes away from the strip on the freeway on the outskirts. Why you close by?

Alright man, you just keep beatin that old drum. How do you know you harvested to early?? You probably just harvested at the wrong time.
Yeah i cut an pasted it. So i wouldnt have to type out everything i already knew. And all I ever said was the scope helps...
I never said its the only thing you should go by...

I never said anything man, just responding to the way you responded, maybe it was in jest but around here people are very serious and respectful. it just kinda threw me off thats the first time I ever seen someone get so offended.

I just asked advice, its all cool man post away, just didnt want you misconstrue what were talking about thats all.

I'm not taking sides here, but the monoscope I bought was totally worthless. A jeweler's loop or a very good magnifying glass might be a better investment. I'm also getting some use out of my ex-wife's 10x/25x makeup mirror, not that I wear a lot of makeup or anything...
