that is what i use my hps is a hortilux eye and my mh is truly a cmh ceramic really lights up the place like a show room very clearly unbelivable i switched to it halfway throug current grow that i just choped down i never i havent used it for entire grow yet but i like it so far

i just choped som elite genetics gear White and Fire O G Kush and have rez chemdog d x sour diesel to take their place they witll be my firs full grow under new bulb setup when i switched i cleaned hps and glass shields made a big diff also if your bulb has been up for a ong time do yourself a favor clean bulb and glass if it has one a really big difference..word

oh i use a phillips cmh - love it if i member correctly they only had 250w and 400w

(1) Grow with CMH (not an option as I do not have magnetic ballasts, mine are digital)

It's a good thing, the issue is with the amount of uv light they give off. They are meant to be used in industrial lighting about 12 to 30 feet above you, not 18 inches from you, they will burn you in 45 seconds if not careful. Off my list.

(2) Grow with HPS only (Rosenthal agrees with this)

Old school, why do they make so many combo lamps, must work. If you look closely when going through High Times or some other rag the better grow ops have both in the flowering room.

(3) Veg with MH and grow with HPS (Cervantes agrees with this)

Again old school and you can't trust this guy, that's another story.

(4) Veg with a 2:1 ratio of MH to HPS and then flower with a 2:1 ratio of HPS to MH

This works for me, but I would use 400 or 600 for the supplemental lighting for example 1000w HPS and 400 w MH. IMHO

(5) Grow with LED (not an option)

Just not there yet.

I decided to just buy good bulbs. 1000w hps eye enhanced spectrum.

Its mostly just preference. I mean yea the light temps make some diff.. but for that to occur everything else would have to be PERFECT. I mean optimal. So dont put too much stress in to it...Plenty of people grow with only MH or HPS and do really well.. But unless you plan on getting into competitions just keep it simple.. Im using hps for veg now...I was going to get a mh bulb and use it .. But the hps seems to be doing really well.Lots of side shoots and side growth at 3 1/2 weeks.. 5-6 nodes.. Im sure there are tons of people that will tell you that MH is the best thing every.. and maybe its a bit better.. But i dont think its a huge difference.. Just in browsing thru here I would say maybe 5-10% difference and most of that depends on the grower.
