Need help with my grow

I will be starting a grow up in the attic soon as there is no available room to start one anywhere else,

The problem that i have here is space:(The spot where i'm planning to grow is 47 inches in height from the roof, The space is about 2.5ft x4 feet i would imagine,

What would be the best method here?I want to get a decent yield and was thinking of starting with hashplant and blueberry, but because of the lack of space i think i might go with hashplant only,

Do you think i could successfully grow 5 or 6 hashplant under a 400watt hps, I will be sealing this area off with a black plastic bag with the walls and inside of the bag coated in tinfoil for extra light reflection, Also i might be able to scrape an extra couple inches as my attic is not converted and there is no floor, i could maybe fit the plant pots in the holes between the frame of the attic to give me an extra 3-4 inches:D,There is an air vent over the other side of the attic so i will have no ventilation problems, I might also invest in a carbon scrubber just incase,

Also, i am growing in soil,

How long do you think i should veg for? How high should i let them get before they go into flowering??#

All help is appreciated

how about doing only 2 or 3 in a scrog to keep em low?
I hear alot of good things about scrog but i don't really understand the idea behind it, i'm trying to do as much research as i can at the moment, Would the yield be as good as if i was to do it without scrog?

Do NOT!! use tin foil!! It will create hot spots and burn your plants. Either paint flat white or use panda plastic also known as black and white polly plastic.

i have a couple of comments (sorry for not answering your questions directly)...
1) attics can get hot - make sure you have a plan to cool down the area
2) fresh air availability can not be overemphasized!
3) do you have a plan for moving around all the water you'll need? an aside - you really want to make sure you put your plants in something waterproof to avoid any water leaking damage.
4) 47" minus 12" for the pot and at least 12" for the light leaves you with 23 inches and you are supposed to keep a 400w bulb at least 6-12" away from your plant (and that is using an air-cooled hood) leaving you about a foot of space to grow your plants which is not very much room

you may want to study up on very short strains (like lowryder) or investigate LST or horizontal growing techniques

Also, keep in mind that most plants will double or triple in size during flowering stage, so you might not want to veg for very long. I am on my first grow, and let my WW (freakishly tall plant) veg for too long, and now they're about as tall as me!

Thats waht they say but my white widow just finished and it only grew 2 inches from the time I switched to 12/12 to finish. they finished at 22" so dont always use this theory as I was dissapionted by people telling me this and it never happend.

Why would i need to use 12 inch pots? that seems a bit big to me? i was thinking more like 6-8 inch pots that could fit in between the gaps in the floor that would make for more space, Also i am going to be getting a very small reflector and making the fixture as close to the roof as possible to save more room,And as i am growing hashplant i thought that height wouldnt be too great of a problem, I'm going to pop up into the attic now in a sec to have another look around to see if i will indeed be able to fit these pots between these holes in the floor.

All help is appreciated

I dunno, man, I'm growing WW myself, and I ended up with over 4-ft behemoth plants, and I still ahve to raise the light every few days.

Okay a bit of good news, the holes in the floor are bigger than i thought, Pots will definately fit in between then giving me an extra 5 inches of space and,And i measure wrong before the height from ground to roof is 49

so i have in total 54 inches of space maybe that will give you guys a better idea of exactly what i am working with, Also would i be able to keep the lights closer to the plants if i had a fan or 2 constantly running on them while the lights are on?

If you get a vented light shade you can get a little closer. With my vented light shade I can get 8" away with my 600watt without any problems.

They are pretty expensive though arent they? I am really limited on cash, I can barely afford the light setup alone LOL!would an oscillating fan or two not do the same job?Would it be safe to leave a 400hps 12inch from the tips if i had one fan blowing directly at the tips of the plants?

So do you guys still think SCROG is a good idea? If so how many plants should i use i was going to order a pack of 10 hashplant, How will i ensure they are all female also? Should i invest in some feminized seeds or are they bullshit?

mine are like 6" or less away from my 400W

Hmm maybe i'll have a bit more room to grow than i thought, I reckon i can get the light fixture to take up no more than 8 inches off the roof and the pots no more than 5 off the floor, if the lights are kept 10in away from the plants that gives me a total grow height of 31 inches,

I might rethink my choice of strain, Whats everyones favourite pure indica?

yeah they can get costly I would say with a fan blowing directly on the light would work better then you are cooling the source of the heat. If your using seeds there is no garantee of getting females. Feminized seeds are the best for it but I have heard they hermie easier.

hey, is it true that you can kill the male parts of a mostly female hermie, ad end up with a perfectly o.k. sinsemilla crop still?

Hmm, Okay so i reckon i'll just let the fan blow directly at the light and leave it on high and as close as possible as i can while the lights are on, then another fan blowing onto the plants,How does that sound?

What strain do you think i should go with? I definately need a short plant, I prefer the indica type high anyway, What strain would you recommend? And do you know any good seed banks that have a good range of feminised seeds?
