Reflective material

Hi everyone,

I want to add some reflective material in my grow closet.
I know I could use foil paper, but I saw some Emergency Blanket at the store and I was wondering if it could work better.

It's made from aluminized polyester.
Something like this:

yes the blankets work but the wrinkles in it make it less efficient then mylar.

i use the same thing from walmart cost like $4 for a 52"x 82" piece and use double sided carpet tape then u wont have wrinkles like other poster mentioned but be carefull when applying once stuck to tape its stuck hard to remove

start at top with on strip of tape then stick foil to it then fold back sides slightly and tape one side at a time will pullit tight to remove wrinkles then tape bottom
just tape around edges that all it takes

yeah if you have a cab which i do
im not gonna paint it white sorry
$4-$6 or $30+ for good thick mylar
ill stick being a cheap scape lol

from what i seen mylar is aluminium polyester which is what emgercy blanket says on the box
google mylar, mylar is just a trademark of dupont

thats why i went with the walmart stuff no shipping no hour and a half round trip to hydro shop and i dont have to buy 25 foot x 4 foot roll
and i was wrong it is 52x 84 inches

Yeah the emergency blanket is the cheapest way to go without painting . I,m gonna switch to white panda film it,s a bitch keeping the mylar clean in my setup .White film or paint doesnt have to as clean as mylar to reflect light .

I like to save money as much as the next guy but if you're growing in an Aerogarden I haven't found anything better than three mirrors; one behind and one on each side. I got mine at Home Depot and Lowe's and I arranged them at an angle to reflect the light back up to illuminate the lower portion of my plants. My friend who is more frugal than me got his from second hand stores and his work just as well as mine. Think about it. There's no mold forming between the wall and the film you tack to it.
