Great results with hardly any product

I have been getting this feeling that there is alot of bunk product out there soaking up growers money....Most people use these products and along with placebo think it is doing something.

Can someone post a link showing a successful and bomb grow using minimum nutrients? I have a feeling i am adding waay too many additives and nutrients thus making my grow worse than what it could be without all this.

I agree. One that comes to mind, specifically, is Superthrive. Just because it has a cool name, guys think it's going to give their plant a major boost, speed up cloning, save it from impending doom, etc.... It's bullshit, and nothing but 'sales hype'.

Not only that but you have nutrients and micro nutrients but also enzymes, vitamins, amino acids, carbs, hormones, metabolic grow formulas, potassium silica, fulvic/humic acids, beneficial fungus, seaweed extract, ripeners, molasses, rhizosphere root inoculants or root zone conditioners....when does it end? What really matters and what doesnt? I mean im sure it all matters to a certain extent....but an overload of everything just may be detrimental.

The sad thing is, I have all this stuff....All free from an indoor garden expo. It is tempting to use it all, and i have used alot of it...

I would like to see a successful grow using a base nutrient for veg and a base nutrient for flower. Is there really only a few complete balanced nutrients out there? Do they purposely leave stuff out such as cal-mag? This way you go down and buy a bottle?

I think we may be doing more damage raising ppms and adding salts then that particular additive is doing...If i remember correctly Momma didnt use all this for a successful grow of tomatoes.

Well you can click on the link in my sig line and see the three 6'+ plants that I have that have been grown completely with Miracle Grow 20-20-20 Tomato fertilizer, and now with Miracle Grow 15-30-15 blooming fertilizer. I admit I also used some cow manure tea in between feedings, as well as a time released fertilizer my nursery makes under their own name.

Of course, I now have some people telling me that although the plants may have grown nice they will taste like crap, not burn right, etc ...

I've already proven that to be BS by taking a couple of branches the deer knocked down, quick dried them and smoked them. While a bit harsh due to the quick drying and not being properly cured, the buds smoked just fine and got me nice and high. I'm sure the quality of the high will only improve as the buds mature and the THC quantity increases.

Now does that mean the stuff you have to take a small loan out to buy enough of for a single grow is bad? Nope. I'm sure it is great fertilizer. But worth the expense? Well, I don't think so.

Oh, and regarding tomatoes. I still have producing tomato plants in September when all of my neighbor's plants are long dead and gone. The secret? Miracle Grow. The tomatoes tasted just fine as well. :)

you can grow extra proper buds using zero added nutes if you make a good soil mix...... ive throw plants outside in native dirt and neevr feed them only water and they grew fine.... im sure i would have got a larger yield feeding though

Miracle Grow will destroy your soil over time.

Each year you will have to add more and more MG to get the same results and in turn you will be adding salt that will kill any beneficial microbes in the soil.

MG is BAD.

on the subject of seeds, i noticed a few days ago that one of my white berry x redwood kushs had developing seeds on it. i have 3 wb x rk in a room of 12....come to find out the guy who gave me the seeds bred the whiteberry female to a hermied redwood kush female. thus carrying the hermie trait. after noticing pistils dying here and there i am starting to think the whole crop may be pollinated.

now i am at a point of decision. week 4 starts tommorow. should i remove all wb x rk or is the damage pretty much done? will they continue to release pollen?

you have to make ur own decisions on different nute companys.....
some lines have a shit load of produtcs and they want you to use EVERY single product they have..for example Humbolt Nutrients, look at their feed schedules they want you to use all kinds of different shit each week..

I chose Botanicare because their 1 part PRO BLEND veg and bloom, Liquid Karma and Hydroplex basically have all the same shit in 3 different products than Humbolt has in 5-6 different products...

Thats my 2 cents....!

Not once does that article talk about the ammount of salt buildup that chemical fertilizers leave behind in the soil after they are done working.

I never said that chemical fertilizers do not work, I simply said that chemical fertilizers leave salt deposits that WILL kill any kind of soil microbes. And not only that, it drives earth worms away from the soil (and yes earthworms are important for creating humus & friable soil).

The fact of the matter is that article has ZERO scientific proof to say that chemical fertilizers, it simply refers to another link and is basically one man's opinion.

Do you really want to be eating or smoking anything that can also be used to make Bombs?
