How do you add nutrients to soil?

I'm starting a soil grow and I'm confused as to how to add the nutrients. All I can find are liquid based nutrients that seem to be meant for hydroponics. Do you mix the nutrients into the water that you are going to use to water the plants?

yeah start with half the recommended dose and mix to 1 gallon of water and then gradually move upto the full dosage

Yes but i think you want to invest in the correct nutes for soil growing (not hydro).

if your using a good potting soil you wont need to add anything for 3 weeks or so

Yes NO nutes for the first 2-3 weeks and start with a 1/4 dose and up the dosage slightly each week.
