question about the late finishers.. just showed pre flowers

alright so i have 2 plants that are alittle behind on the other ones..the other plants are already half way through flowering also.. one showed a couple a couple preflowers awhile ago and hasnt really done anything yet( its a un known seed planted in middle april) the other one just showed pre flowers 1 1/2 ago. it was transplanted early may. its my only clone and its also the only one i have in the ground. others are in 5 gal buckets.. my question is do clones show preflowers are do they just go straight into flowering? also these two im thinking are atleast 8-10 week strains. so if it started last week then it would have to go well into november.. im on the east coast and usually right after october it starts to get pretty cold out. im gonna have to cover them both at night as long as i can until it just gets to cold. anything under 32? i have feeling early november is gonna be coldd

heres a pic of the clone.. this is from last month.. the top of this plant is crazy.. soo many shoots on the top cola

Well, a clone will pre-flower, but with the right light hours, it'll go right into flower. I have a couple seed strains this year, that are supposed to be 8 week strains, that just started flowering a few days ago, and I'm at 3700 ft in Nocal, and there's no way they're gonna make it. Bad genetics is what I'm settling on being the problem, and that's prolly your trouble too, or you got heavy sativa that takes forever.

Hey bro,

Yes you are gonna look at somewhat of a preflower phase before you see full on flower development. And this is quite normal for many strains to go this late. I'm kinda going thru the same thing with my Mazar i Shariff. It's an excellent strain to grow, legendary indica that has a long history tracing back to the Hindu Kush mountains in the Mazar region of Afganistan. But it starts late, and they recommend between 9-11 weeks to flower. I'm looking to reach full potential here, so unless the trichomes absolutely say otherwise, I am gonna push them the full 11. I was gonna say I'll even go 12 if I can, but that's just a downright lie. I can't be eating turkey & stuffing before I chop my babies down!!! haha

Anyway, hopefully the timing works out for you. And it's doubtful you'll need to go 11 weeks like I do. It's unfortunate you have unknowns, otherwise we'd be able to better determine a target for you. Hope all this helps, and keep us updated with your results! Def take some right before you cut em and then some of the trimmed, cured product! =)

Cheers

Seriously! I can't wait to try the results from my first greenhouse experience. Unfort it's a long wait, but fortunetely I have 3 strains so I will have a staggered harvest. Starting with White Widow (approx 20% and could very well be my most potent strain, we'll see), a week or so later will be the StarTrek, and then I have Mazar coming in weeks after them.

I've got a Pineapple, and a Hawaiian Sativa that are way behind the rest of mine.It is just a trait of certain strains.I have found that the Sativa dominant strains tend to flower later than most.

yeah true.. its weird tho.. i have a couple that i know are 80/20 sativa indica and there 5 weeks into flowering.. its just strange.. i just hope it doesnt get to cold to quick.. this is my only plant in the ground and looks like i might get a nice yeild from her if it has enough time. def orderin a bunchof early finshing strains next year along with a couple that went early this year to. but hey im happy with the variety.. 6 total.. 5 dif strains

Have you ever grown pineapple before? Whether you have or not, what are the characteristics it is giving off right now vs the other plants, and how about yield/trichome production vs the others? I LOVE pineapple strains, and was looking seriously at ordering one along with an autoflower strain in a month or so here.

im starting to think im gonna have to cut the two early.. its been getting pretty cold here at night. once we get into october the weather could change for the worst..keeping my fingers crossed

My buddy has 2 super skunks in his back yard and it only has dime to nickle size buds on it.

Im having problems with late flowering aswell...they are bagseed tho maybe bad genetics , i have a indica dominant, indica/sativa hybrid, and a sativa and the sativa started flowering 2 weeks earlier than the other two, the indica and indica/sativa showed preflowers a month ago but just now starting to form buds....whats up with that???
