So... if i had a 2x4 veg room with 250+ watts of led and a few cfls floating around. and a 4x4 flowering room with a 1000 watt hps. vegging a 50/50 indica/sativa blend, for 8 weeks; how many how many plants should put in my flowering room to maximize yield?

Hello,

First of all, i suggest you to find out how many plants you can have legally in you re country. It vary from place to place.

If the law only allow you to have few plants. There some way to maximize yield by ; Topping, Supercropping, LST you re lady. Good genetic will also help having more yield (some gene produce more then other)

For the light, i would suggest you a 400mh for veg (if you can have one) and would go with 2x 600w over a 1000w (for heat purpose and to cover bigger area)

heats, not an issue. i've got a cooltube with a 6 inch inline fan thats pulling in ac. the cooltube is cool to the touch. anyways. i've got a grow going..and it's going well. i just wanted to know how many plants i should put into my room to maximize yield. if im vegging for 8 weeks.

Your veg lighting and space are not that critical to yield and a blue led panel plus cfl's or a mh would work fine.

Depending on how you train the plants in flowering, you'll be able to fit 4 to 8 plants in your 4x4 flowering space. From 4 very bushy plants in 5 gallon buckets that you've topped/fimmed/pruned with 4 to 12 colas to 8 single main cola plants or something in between.

Either the 1000 watt light or two 600 watt lights will be ok, higher yield with the 600's but more trouble with heat.

You want at least 8-9 plant per 1000w (3x3) You want to use less if you plan on having bigger pot, train them lot. More you will put, less they will have light in the lower canopy. Strain play a huge factor in this kind of situation (some will do better in a SOG) or some strain will push same amount of nugs using less plant by just topping them.

EDIT: @desertrat he said heat is not an issue. 2x 600w with cooltube would give him better result if he got the space for those 2 light or a 1000w on a track could do good job as well!

Well, what kind of hydro set up? Sometime people avoid putting more so the plant will use more of the light income. Some people will put as much as they can so they can get a chance to get bigger results.

Having more plant in a hydro set up sometime cause problem with root rots or root twisting with each other making it harder to move when needed.

I am currently in week 2 of flowering in my 4x4 grow space. I have 8 plants on the go and it is getting pretty cramped in there, and still got a ways to go. Depending on how you train them and how long you veg for will be a determining factor for how many you can grow. A few big ones or lots of little ones, it's up to you.

Started under a fluoro from seed for 2 weeks, then veg'd for 4 weeks. Fim'd at about week 2-1/2 or 3 of veg.
