Problem with power company and veg room lights.

Routine service by the power company is going to shut the power off from 10 PM to 8 am this weekend.

Our bloom room is 12 hrs on starting at 7:30 pm and we have two veg rooms with lights going 24.

A few months ago the power went out during the day and I had our loud generator running from 11:30 AM till 7 PM during a week day but theres no way we can have that thing running ALL night - even though the notice from the power company had special instructions for people planning on using generators hooked to the grid (ours is not ) but still - it's noisy generator we can maybe use till 11 PM.

So how long can the Vegging plants be with out light before they get the message to bloom? We veg a long time, 2 to 3 months, sometimes longer, so they are READY to start blooming when they change rooms.

In the bloom room we plan on starting the lights at 5 PM the night this will happen, run the generator till 11 PM and well, for the blooming plants it's just going to be a very, very overcast day. Our main concern is not dealing with a dozen NEW BLOOMING plants we don't have room for.

Any advice? Thanks:confused:

i would just run it and if someone complains then shut it off
or go talk to neighbors first and tell them you are going to run it im sure they wont mind unless they r dicks

They'll survive just fine. I've routinely had to shut off all my lights and such for upto 24 hours at a time and they've pulled throuhgh just fine. 1 day of lights off is not going to convert your veggin girls into flwoering ones. It takes a prolonged change for them to notice and adapt accordingly (that is to say go into flowering)

Thanks folks. Excellent replies. I will check with the neighbors and also not worry if they don't go for it. I should post my questions more often. The guys I consult with are usually drunk and don't give consistent answers.

Thanks again for the quick reply as well.

i run my generator 24/7 if i have to. just telll the nieghbors you have a fish tank or medical equipment that has to be powered its considered life support. also you can extend your exhaust pipe an run it into a large trash can filled with water to make it quieter.

Yeah, well you sound better, and if I can't smell the beer on your breath you tend to make a lot of sense, and I been hitting tequila any way.

So are the power company making provision for peoples´ freezers defrosting??? Ten hours is too long.

They don´t even do that in this 3rd world country.
