the seedlings just popped up about three days ago and they are tall but look weak. the lights about 18 inches away.... advice?

Add more soil to the cups (right up to the brim) so it covers the stems and get your light closer.

The intensity of light dissipates in a sphere (that is to say pi x radius cubed)... in more general terms the farther the plant is from the light source the less photons (packets of light) it receives to turn into energy, thus the plant "reaches" up towards the light in this way to so it can collect more energy. Move the light closer, this will stop it.

yea dude ,
your seedlings are stretching for the lights ,
just lower your lights closer to help prevent the stretching ,
also do what sir smoker said ,
when you add more soil around your stem ,
it will eventually form new roots on the part of the stem that you covered up ,
edit ,
also i would just replant them in different cups or pots ,
your gonna get root bound real fast having them both in them same cups like that

thanks. i dont know if my first reply posted or not but im using 2 incandescent lights and i was worried about burning them.
Also yeah i need to sepertate the two seeds but i was going to doing it when they got a little stronger but how should i go about doing it right now? just splitting it down the middle? But thanks for the help im just trying to grow kinda as a hobby experiment so im just seeing what happens.

get raid of them asap ,
you can get a 6pk of cfl`s for like $8 at lowes
and you can put them literally on top of your plants without burning them ,
i got my cfl`s about 1 " over my plants , lol
your seedlings are small enough that you can literally ( CAREFULLY ) dump the soil out the cups
and ( GENTLY ) break up the soil around them and easily separate them ,
its really no problem at this stage , once you separate them and re pot them ,
the will start growing just as good , like they were in their own cups all along ,
but if you wait longer it will have a stronger and bigger root system on them ,
and you will damage the roots trying to separate them and they will go into shock ,
of course eventually they will recover , but you dont want to stress your plants if you can help it...

thanks guys i seperated them and now im just growing one which seems to be doing well...im going to add some pictures later on to see what you think but i have 3 cfl's now that are 27 watts each and give off 1800 lumens...1 on each side of the plant and 1 above

here are some pics...hows she looking? shes 1 week old. Im a little worried about the stem though...it really skinny but i havent had a fan with her but i ordered one and its coming tomorrow...but do you think it can bounce back?

I used two T5 58watt and 38watt 6700K CFLS for veg kept them around 3 inches from the tops and had no probs of burning , Well worth it cost 40.00Euro and you can just switch over the tubes for flowering . Dont think incandescent have the right light spec for plants to grow .. Plus they get two hot Get 6700kelvin cool whites
