CFL start up

Hey guys, I'm new but I could use some help. I have set up a small cfl grow 15"x16" and 2'5" tall (its a small dresser mounted on a toy chest) Its pretty well sealed but the door. The lights i have are 2 42watt GE general purpose lights 2700 lumen's (150 watt) as well as intake and exhaust fans i haven't got a plant going yet but was looking to see if this is good enough or should i add 2-3 6000k 23 watt daylight bulbs Any help would be very appreciated

What you have will work fine, adding more lights/lumens and specially from a different spectrum will help even more! Just watch your temps and keep your lights close!

Edit, just make sure you have mostly 2700k spectrum blubs for flowering and a few 6500 k will help if added.

I have almost the identical grow area and you will see I struggled with design especially when it comes to lighting and heat issues. I really like my setup as of now, but I did struggle... SmellyTrees was very helpful as were several others on RIU.

lighting really depends on the stage of growth and where you can apply the light to the plant. Seeing as how I don't have anything out of the soil yet, I can't attest to the best method yet, but SmellyTrees is experienced as well as many others.

Post some pic so the Roll It Up (RIU) community can see what you're working with.

So if I add 4 26watt bulbs 6500k would that be to much for my space? Plus I cant get mylar where I'm at so I was just gonna leave the inside of the box wood colored. I don't know what cfm fans I have but they are two personal fans like for dorm rooms. And I will post pics soon sorry guys and thanks for the help

Thank you Easy that really helped i think im going to add 4-6 26w 6500k bulbs and i m going to paint it too.
I tell ya to this box is super ghetto but im pretty sure it will do the job
i will try to get pics on here asap thanks alot

I was in your situation a week or so ago. I have a few videos in my journal so you can see my struggles.

ok so im going to add lights to the box im going to add 4 26 watt daylight cfls to give it a grand total of 188 watts 104 lower and 84 above that i only plan on growing bag seed three plants weed out males then just grow whats left. i just really want one large plant that i can harvest my own supply.

If you cant get mylar on the roll just go to a camping shop and buy one of those emergency blankets,its just a big sheet of mylar and costs next to nothing and is more than you will need.
