I didn't read the link in the previous post, but I've just been inspired. My curing jars will have a bed of small quartz pebbles in the bottom this year. I will sterilize them with hot water and then cleanse/charge them under cool running water.

you might get under a pound a light if you strickly do organics. DO your organics outside where it is better off.
Im not gonna fix whats broken. do test groups but dont change anything if your getting amazing results.
organics/chems are only a small part of this. Its mostly light and temps and strains.

YES! What an apt description of what we do. Our quartz gathering expeditions also include: off roading, ridge running, burrell hunting, and free styling, all fueled by new school organic Cannabis. lol

What a day, and those scissor tricks really are winning favor with the trim crew. Each plant will be about a pound and a half. Grown using new school organics in the outdoors (liquid organics ect). Gotta love Cali weather, this year has been a breeze.

SPEAKING OF NEW SCHOOL...

Yes, I have finally got both my flowers and bubble hash submitted for analysis. While submitting my samples I got to check out some of subcool's ganja. By which I mean GROWN BY THE SUB AND MZ JILL THEMSELVES! Greenhouse style! Very interesting assortment of flavors, I can't remember which one smelled like cream soda, but that was really cool. Uh...still my indoor veganic Blackberry Kush looks and smells better, but I may be biased and I spent way more to grow way less. Update on the results asap. Peas.

I'll start this post by saying that anyone arguing medicinal Cannabis facts with science and data is only bringing a weak argument at best. THE FACT is that the studies on Cannabis in the US have been performed with crappy 3% THC ditch weed grown in the sole source of federal Cannabis production. And international studies are also lacking due to prohibition. I mean seriously, they never tested the concentrates that we hard core Cannabis user are fond of.

Or have 'they'? and who is 'they'? Well 'they' used to represent the federal gov't. Now, with CA medical Cannabis, there has been an opportunity for independent laboratories to be established. Steep Hill lab being the best one I know about. They do the testing for the Cannabis Cup here and many names you would recognize, in addition to many dispensaries.

There has been no pre-established system for analyzing Cannabis and Cannabis products that is available to these labs, so they had to figure it out from scratch. The labs have grown 'organically' and independently using the information (aka as libraries in the GC/MS world) available on schedule 1 DRUGS. ARGH. They have developed Cannabinoid quantification, for the major players of the hundreds of molecules present in Cannabis trichomes. And they are working on heavy metal tests... which ties into new school organics and health concerns.

The medical facts are becoming more reliable, and the margin of error is officially 1.5% +/- but in reality they can get closer to .3% margin of error.

I have a few points that I want to make here.
A) THC is overvalued as medicine, it is the CBD/other cannabinoids and terpenes that hold the medicinal powers and that is not a characteristic being bred for generally. Highest CBD levels are around 9%, and those plants generally have lower THC than the low CBD strains.
B) THC over 25% in flowers is essentially impossible at this point. Even low twenties is rare. Those claims of crazy high THC as usually BS.
C) The best bubbles are as potent as any other super concentrate.
D)Thank 215 and some hardcore canna-nerd herb growers for the research.

And they surely did not test Cannabis. If you look you can find both sides to every argument. DO YOU SING OR PLAY MUSIC FOR YOUR CANNABIS?

My favorite herb at a local dispensary is grown by a mother/daughter team. They wear white robes and sing to the plants as the lights come on, every day. Their herb makes me happy, like none other. They also do all sorts of other hippy stuff that I plan on covering.

I've never tried the Azo, will let you know what they say. I trust that: between the Bountea with root web, the HN myco madness, the great white, and the rhizotonic... i have already gone way overboard.

Sorry, yes, a bit more than a little. Plus, mine was way more cured, that makes a huge difference. His outdoor could easily be confused for indoor.

Chirps, I would say science or not, I love that. I've heard chirps open stomata in the morning. Same with the reggae, the one drop riddim is like a heart beat.

Fruit roll ups: up next just for you. There is no real trick. As you know: Great hash is made with patience from quality sugar leaf. Mature intact trichomes only.

Bubble hash tips and good times with Professor Matt "Veganics" Rize

To begin, I love concentrates, especially the highest quality bubble hashes. I also spend a large part of my time making bubble, and have tested many techniques and strains over the years.

There are some tips that I have come up with or learned about along the way, and some good times that I want to share. I'll start with the fun part.

GOOD TIMES:

Have you ever played hash hockey?

It is so much fun, especially when turned into a form of gambling. The idea is simple really. Get yourself one of those old school electric hockey games. You know what I am talking about...the little guys that spin and move back/forth on the field. Old School baby. Then make a puck out of some hash, consistency is CRUCIAL and you will learn what kinds of hash make a perfect puck. The winner takes the puck in a game to 11 or whatever. Enjoy! And watch out, that puck will FLY!

BUBBLE HASH MAKING TIPS:

First: It is all about the quality of the trichomes. Properly grown Cannabis flowers yield quality hash.

Second: Do not use infected/damaged materials to make hash (IMO).

Third: Is the debate on using fresh (still wet) trim versus using dried (and cured) trim. We'll get to that later. For now, use dried/cured trim, and let it soak for a good twenty minutes before beginning agitation.

Fourth: Is a slew of tricks I've learned for using the BubbleNowXL, more later: insulating the unit+

Fifth: Is the debate on which bags to use. It depends on strain and trichome size, but for now I'll say use the 45 micron as a catcher, the 120 (160 depending) as your second (cooking), and a 190 as your third to catch the garbage.

Sixth: get a quality pump sprayer that you will only use for water. Fill it full of ice water and use it to collect your trichomes.

Pictured below is my full melt hash bowl. There are three holes around the top inside of the bowl that allow the smoke to be pulled into your bong/chalice. The bottom of the bowl is solid, like a dish. A glass rod is heated and then inserted into the bowl. The hash melts and turns to smoke, but the oily mess has nowhere to go because the bowl's holes are at the top. This allows smoking full melt hash with no metal screens or flowers in the mix. Pure and clean.

I'll start with tips for using the BubbleNowXL:
-Wrap that b*tch with some kind of insulation. Crucial design flaw. An easy fix is to wrap your machine with one of those car window sun blocks, the shiny 'metal' looking ones.
-Temperature of tap water varies greatly, as I learned from a brewer. Something to keep in mind for several reasons.
-Store bought ice sucks. I have a whole article on that, soon to be posted.
-Temperature of the air affects the overall efficiency. Bubble early or late when it is hot out. Or bubble indoors and keep it cool.
-NEVER overfill the work bag, worst move ever. 3/4 full or less.
-The goal is to perform the spinning agitation at as cold of a temperature as possible. Start with ice in the machine, fill the bag with layers of ice/trim, zip and double knot, more ice. Now add water, but only about half way up. Next, turn the machine on, then slowly add more water until the contents barely begin to spin. You can help the bag find it's home in the ice/water mixture and the machine does the rest.
-Don't be afraid to take the screw out that holds the spinning disk in place. Clean down there once and a while.

There are a few ways to make fruit roll up style hash.
The benefit of making/storing your hash in this manner are:
1) Easy to break a piece off, and then it is ready to melt
2) Minimal processing of the hash, no pressing/heating/tricks needed
3) Easy for dispensaries to judge the quality, consistency, melt. And thin sheets are quick and easy to portion for patients.

The two preferred ways to make fruit roll up hash are either using the drying sheets that come with the bubblebags, the blue rimmed squares. Or using a flat plate. Either way, the idea is to collect your bubble and lay it out as thin as possible while still wet. If you lay it too thin, it wont form a sheet. If you lay it too thick you won't be able to see through it for that visual affect.

With the drying squares you can let the bubble dry on both sides, but with the plate it is another story all together. You will have to make the call as to when it is time to cut the sheet free and peel it up. The window is small, but if you get it in time the tactile properties of this wet/dry sheet of hash is amazing. Then you can dry the plate side.

The sheets cure to different colors. If I've understood what RC Clarke is saying in his epic book "Hashish", the hash color reflects the cannabinoids present in the trichomes.

I've found that the colors of these fruit roll ups vary from blonde, to amber, to gold, to red, to purple, to brown. NOT black though, because this process uses no heat or pressing, so decarboxylation is minimal. big up mo!

If you can lay it out thin enough to see through it, then any contamination will show up as dark spots when held up to light.

I have not, however, tried anything along the lines of cleansing and charging a giant hunk of quartz crystal and putting it next to them, but that would be an interesting experiment and I thank you for the idea.

Back to seriousness, but you can tell I like to have fun too (i'm a unique blend, in no particular order, of: hippy/rock-climber/scientist/chef/hustler/teacher/lover/canna-nerd/class-clown).

I like to lay my charged quartz right on the dirt. Not the huge pieces, but some of the smaller and well traveled pieces.
I like to refresh the quartz, or switch them up, to coincide with the moon cycles. New moon, new stones. But what do I know? LOL
And by well traveled, I take the power pieces with me hiking, and to different parts of the country. Then I make sure to wash them in clean running water, spring or glacial. Let them lay in the sun to dry and warm. I'm considering trying a Pacific wash, since I'm there already a few times a week. But am worried about the salt reacting with my power pieces.

isn't ammonia build up the largest opposing force to recirculating organic hydro? An automated irrigation system would be great, but so far the only set up that seems to make sense is top feed drain to waste. And without a pump and RO system, that seems like a lot of wasted water, what do you think?

I think you are correct to some degree. The people I know doing organic hydro are top feeding via drip, collecting the run-off and re-using it. They just top off daily, or twice daily. And they add food everyday until changing up the whole res. They have cut out the wasted water part, and don't seem to have ammonia issues. That may be because they do a hygrozyme 'cleaning' between res changes. Not all organic nutes can be used like that. And I'm no hydro expert, lol.
