i was in a rush, sorry. just dont wet the soil you place on top of the root. there is a lot of moisture in there and you dont want to drown the poor thing. the extra soil will soak up moisture from the rest of the soil.

Too late, I used existing dirt in the cup to lay on top of that (what looked to be) root. I know have three sprouts. I have also given them names (unisex) since I have no idea what breed they are. The names are Terry, Sydney, Pat and .

I plan on moving them to one gallon Smart Pots from the cups. Then I will flower them when they are 1/3 the height of my grow box (approx 10" tall). That's when I'll see the sex. I don't really want more than two females as I don't have the room or light for more then 2 grows. Almost forgot, I am going to LST the hell out of them too. should be good practice for my AK47 Lowryder #2.

I'll provide photo updates this weekend.

I know the feeling... I was so proud when i first built my grow box.... then i turned it on with the lights. It got way too hot. I took it almost completely apart and started over. I have videos that demonstrate said frustration. It's fun though, in a sick way.

I am going to install some new light fixtures, one on each side. I am going to drop down between the two light sets I have on either side about a foot down and install the new fixtures. As you can see from the picture it's an outdoor fixture for two lights and they are adjustable on location. This way I can provide some side lighting to the mature plants as the ladies get bigger and I can move them to the best possible location. Basically, give me more light options as I go forward.

you know you can save a few buck and just buy the Y adapters. let me know if you dont know what they are i will be here

I may still get some Y adapters, but these fixtures allow me some light about midway down in my box instead of the very top. I could use the Y adapters on any of the 8 eventual medium light sockets I'll end up having. Fixture wise, this box will be complete.

ok, makes sense. just wanted to make sure you knew what they were. i know those are less than $10 each, but the Y's are only a couple bucks.

are you an electrician? you sure do like the metal light boxes, but better safe than sorry :)

Not an electrician but i stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Yeah, I would rather limit the exposure to connections in a the box. Since It will run many times without anyone being home. I spent $20 on both with the metal box.

I need to calc the AMPs the box is pulling to make sure it does not exceed the max for an outlet... approx 15 amps

110x15 = 1650 watts. so you can pull about 1300 watts safely from that circuit, NOT OUTLET. if you have other outlets on the same circuit then you may need to do some more math

Yeah, I guess that is what I meant. per circuit. My wife will run her hair iron and blow drier on that same circuit, so I may have to unplug the magic box when she needs it.

I am not sure I get your math there... I always though you measured the amps per circuit based on the devices you run. you are multiplying the 110V outlet X 15 Amps? to equal watts?

yeah, a watt will always use the same amps, depending on volts . but volts x amps = watts, and you can figure the opposite by dividing. does that make sense?

Here are the pictures of my unknown sex plants. Therefore I gave them unisex names.

Now Kelly was the first to come up yesterday and is not as tall as the Terry and Pat who came up today.

finally have a little green in my cab. shoosh!

I also included a photo of their current environment. I have the 4 X 23W 6,5000K CFLs on 18/6.

So awesome man. I'm excited for ya! Now sit back and watch em grow. Try not to baby them TOO much like I did or you'll end up hurting them more than helping. I'll be watching!
