Got a question about bud hairs

Hey all, i got a quick question for you super growers willing to help me out. Do the hairs on the buds have to be redish to harvest or can they still be white? I have searched and read up on it but its not clear on that. If you could let me know that would be great help! Thanks and have a great day!

those plants still have 2 weeks of growing to do.

do NOT harvest your plants if they still have white hairs.

alright thanks alot...i believe that most of the bud development occurs in the last 4 weeks (read it in a marijuana growing book)...is that the reasoning behind waiting for most hairs to change colors or is their another reason? haha sorry for the 20 questions but its nice to get educated responses

What makes a bud 'ripe' is the color of the trichomes, which indicates their state. To see them you must use a magnifying piece. When you are unable to look at the color of the trichs, the next best indicator is the color of the hairs. When the hairs turn color, it indicates the plant is nearing the end of it's life cycle. This probably means the trichomes are are ready too, but not necessarily. If you wait till about 80% of the hairs on the plant are shriveled and colored, it's a good bet most of the trichs are ready as well, and bud production has pretty much stopped. Being able to look at the trichs themselves lets you have a more precise harvest.
