Top of the plant turning brown

Hey guys,

I'm currently growing my first plant and I've run into a small issue.
The top of my plant has turned brown. It hasn't progressed much since I noticed it, but it still worries me a bit.

What's causing this and how can I prevent it?

Attached is a pic of the top. The image is as good as my crappy phone camera can handle.

What kind of light are you using? How far is the lamp from the top of the canopy?
Two regular 75W bulbs for 15 cents from the local electricity store. They're pretty close, 5-10cm from the plant. Can bulbs this weak cause the light burn in these distances?

Also, what are your temps and humidity?
I haven't taken any readings. When the lights are on I reckon it's around 25-30c with pretty low humidity. I keep a bowl of water next to the plant but It's probably still out of recommended limits.

Well if it's light burn I can just move the lights further away.
What if it's mold?

I hadn't considered the hot spots before, I'll see what I can do about that tomorrow.

Also, in before get proper lamps.

These are CFL bulbs, yes? 15 cents just sounded cheap for a CFL.
