I need to look into this.no way!! metal gives off just as many toxins!
look up the honey be extractor that is what i have and use.
its made of a special plastic that is made specifically so that
it doesnt give off bad toxins in your oil. =)
I personally wouldnt do it that way soaking your trimmings for to long makes a shit tasting oil. A verry quick rinse is enough you can rinse it up to there time but with each rinse the quallty goes out the window.how i do oil:
1. take all your trim/shake/bud and pop it in the oven for 10min on like 200degrees F (lowest my oven goes)
2. put it all in a blender/coffee grinder/grind with your hands till its real fine, make it as fine as you can get it.
3. get electric hotplate and a bowl
4. empty powdered herb into the bowl on the hotplate and cover with alcohol (everclear, sugar cane, denatured, iso[bleh])
5. cover with an upside down lid and put ice in the top to cool it (OPTIONAL)
6. boil the soup until its nice and green, i usually go for an hour to two...some people do it all day though, all up to you
7. pour all of the soup and sand-herb into a large zip-lock freezer bag
8. get a flat glass pie/cake dish and put it on the hotplate
9. bend a coat-hanger to make a little stand for a coffee filter
10.set your little strainer(from the coat-hanger/filter) above the glass dish
11.hang the bag by the corner from above (i use a kitchen cabinet handle) and Cut the Bottom of the Bag Off.
12.let the soup drain through the strainer onto the plate and evaporate (have plate on low heat)
13.once its done evaporating the alcohol you should have some nice hash oil
sorry for no pics but i haven't had anyone film me making my oil
Wow that sounds goodI personally wouldnt do it that way soaking your trimmings for to long makes a shit tasting oil. A verry quick rinse is enough you can rinse it up to there time but with each rinse the quallty goes out the window.
all i do is get about a ounce of trimmings that have been dryed for a couple days crumble them up quiet fine then stick them in a stocking. have about halfe a leter to a leter of alcohol soak the trimmings for about a munit squeez out remaining liquid then boil it off untill it goes thick then put it in the sun for a couple hours this helps it get a nice yellow red colour. the next rinse would be greener and have more of a tyred buzz. the first wash is always the best!!! yum yum gold oil kicks ass
