Electrical question

Hello everyone

Well I just purchased a new ballast and am planning to start of on my second tent. I purchased a 400 watt Electronic Digital Switchable Grow Light not knowing it would only come with the power cord and light cord and not the socket.

The specs are as fallows:
120v/input Current 3.52A
50Hz/60Hz/Power Factor:>0.99

So my question is what type of socket would I need to purchase? I dunnot want to purchase the socket with the reflector or heat tube but just the socket itself. I guess this is more of an electrical question, hopefully someone here can help me since the 16 year old boy they got working at home depot in electrical couldn't answer me s@!%... I also went to my local Hydroponic retailer, and they only sell the socket with the reflector or heat tube attached... so my only other option is to buy the socket in a hardware store, but just a bit confused on the matter on which socket suits me the best for this ballast.. I don't want to burnout my bulb or cause a fire hazzard.
So am hoping someone here can help me on finding on socket I need.

Thanks.

The easiest way for someone like you is take the lamp to a electrical supply company and tell them I need a socket for this type of lamp that way you dont screw it up. Also they will know alot more about what their talking about as they deal w/ all electrical parts!

Yep, I did go to a hydro store just before I went to the electrical retailer.. the dude behind the counter said "we don't sell the socket separately but I'll do you a favor and let it go for just 40 bucks" ... So screw them lol. And the electrical retailer was selling the socket for $29.00 dollars, so thanks for that link Fabfun you saved me a few bucks!

Thanks guys!
thanks for the help!

Standard mogul sockets all day long! Too many bulb choices for that socket, and geez, its 3 wires. Just tighten the screws and ground your fixture, youll be fine. My local electric supply has them for around 12-15$ . I'd definately go see the shop manager, and ask why his store is taking advantage of the very customers that support his business?? Pisses me off that even in a small group such as growers, people will bend you over w/o a seconds thought! Do you a favor, $40? What an asshole. He'd said something like that to me, and I can still here me bitching and raising hell now. So glad the closest hydro store from here 60miles, is full of cool people. Hope you find one too. Happy growing to ya

You guys are absolutely right. They lost a good customer for that favor that dude offered me. There's a hydroponics retailer in long beach ca. that's gonna be my new destination, 26 miles but worth the trip for good customer service.

Lamp is in a mogul socket - make sure you get a ceramic one, some are plastic which will likely melt.

That's exactly how am planning to mount my lights.. no reflector or cool tube, just my 4 x 5 tent with only the mylar sheet reflecting the lights towards the babies. I know it sounds crazy not setting up a cooltube nor a reflector - But I feel as if the cooltube wont give my babies the proper light spectrum... You know............., as if the cooltube is keeping energy away/wasting. Also not worried about the temp, I got that undercontrol with the ventilation system or otherwise I would be using the tube.
