help with cfl

hello stoners growers n everything in between ima newbie at this but i was wondering if 4 26w 2700k cfls would be enough for 1 indica?if not wut cfls should i get (im broke) i was thinkin a couple cool whites but im on a budget i was thinkin bout getting some hps but idk how hot they get.any help would be appreciated.

Read some of the previous cfl logs, you want to start with 3-4 6500k 26w cfls for veg period. Then when you switch to flower change over to the 2700k. Good luck

thanks much,would those 2700k cfls i was talkin about be able to support a sprout until i get the blue spectrum 6500k or should my high ass run to the store now lol

I'd get the correct color when you can....don't want them stretching too much. Walmart has a two pack for 6 bucks 26 watt 6500 k daylight cfl's

i got 4 4100k cool whites, should i use all cfls at once the 4 2700k and 4 4100k or should i use the correct light spectrum for each grow stage? +rep

I would say, you should use the lights for each grow stage if you got loads of lights, but if your plants gets hella big, i would use every light.

4100k spectrum doesn't really provide much useful light for a MJ plant... you would be better saving the energy by turning them off.

okay i hav a setup now of 5 6500kwhites 60 w and 3 2700k and than vice versa for flowering

thats like what aprox 180 actuall watts. that would be enough for 1 plant, but dont expect to get the crazy yeilds a hps can. You will still get good bud just not as much and not as potentand more fluffy(less dense nugs)

every bulbs 27w=100 w in a 8ft squared stealth box for veg i wanted to get a 400w mh and hps but i hav no idea how hot they get..

you cannot use that equivalent bullshit they put on the light packaging. 27w is not 100w for your purposes what that means is that a 27w cfl will put out the same light as a 100w incandescent. any lighting system that uses 400w will put off some heat. now if you are planning to grow in an area that size you will need alot of watts. whether you have 400w hps/mh or 400w of cfle you will need a good ventilation system.

i have a cfl homaid hood and i use up to four 26watt on top and i usually put a small lamp without the shade rotating around the middle of the plant. if ur using that setup for the whole grow, budding might take a little longer than expected but if u want a quick bud with excellent yield i would switch to either a hps or mh i would go with a 125 to 400 w just so u dont shock it from high levels of heat, of course cfl lights dont produce much heat thats why u put the lights atleast 3 inches above ur plant and i would stay within 10 inches depending on the temp. of the top of the plants. if u swith to the hps or mh i would keep the light a good 15 in. away from the main cola. and i would suggest bending the top of ur plant with the cfl to give the undergrowth more light
