I am having a prob with my plants. The tips of the leaves are turning yellow and

have not grown much. They have been planted for about a week. bin under 3 40w

daylight/5000k CFL's and the soil is Scotts premium top soil.

http://www.tooldistrict.com/scotts-premium-topsoil-75cf-71130758-by-scotts-company.aspx I have been giving them bottled water

with no nutes except for yesterday. http://www.homedepot.com/Outdoors-Garden-Center-Fertilizers/Vigoro/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xg5ZaqlbZ1kt/R-100025759/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

What is wrong with my babies? The links are to the topsoil and nutes i used.

To much water is my only guess your soil looks extremly wet, and dont use nutes just use water. a good time to water is when you stick your finger in the soil about 1/2in down is dry.

No need to dip your finger in the soil, go buy a Moisture Meter, they are in Home Depot or Lowes for $5-10. It will be the best investment....and prevent you from over watering them! I was overwatering my plant when I first started and it almost killed my plant. As far as the yellow tips, thats probably nutes, read your soil and see what the NPK is, your soil alone should be fine for now and I would wait about 2 weeks till you put Nutes in it again and when you do you might want to start off at 25%,50%,75% and eventually 100%. Monitor your plants when giving nutes so you dont burn your plant and screw your yield up.....I am a newbee also and my plant is at 34 day right now, I made a lot of mistakes...but I am learning too as well. Good Luck and buy a MOISTURE METER!!!!! Peace Out!!!!

As you go along with your plant you will learn when and how much to water HER if its a female, just buy a Moisture Meter! With a Moisture Meter you will never over water your plant again. Also give her some time before you start blasting with Nutes, what type of seed are they??

Thanks again. They are nothing special. Just some bag seeds that a friend got for me. He says they are called "popcorn". I never heard of that strain before but i smoked it with him and it is pretty good.

Are you using top soil or potting soil? If its the scotts potting soil its alot like miracle grow. It has time release nutes. In other words everytime you water you are feeding it. Seedlings cant handle hot soil like that. If you're gonna use the cheap stuff, at least start your plants in some sort of starter soil. Then when you transplant you need to cut the scotts with some perlite. The best advice I can give you is get a better soil.I use fox farm ocean forest and never have a problem.

And you said you gave them some ferts. I think you have roasted them for sure now. If you were using better soil you could flush to try and save them but if you do that with the soil youll just activate the time release nutes even more.

It is just reg top soil, not potting soil. since they are so small i just gave a few drop of nutes, not much. I plan on switching to coco coir with i get paid.
